I'm a beginner rider. Just took my MSF (Ohio) class at the end of June. Bought a 2022 Honda Rebel 500 in the beginning of July and have been riding it everyday since! I've put over 1600 miles on it in just over a month! I absolutely love this bike! I got it for its looks and well because I'm short 😄 but I definitely agree that's its a good bike for beginners but it's not just a beginner bike. I got the 500 instead of the 300 because I commute to work on it so I needed something that can get on the freeway. I'll eventually get the 1100 but I definitely want to have more experience on a bike before jumping up to that size of a bike 🏍 Thanks for sharing, Great video! 👍

This seems like the perfect modern bike. It satisfies veterans, gives new riders a warm welcome, has plenty of power available to tap into if you want to, it's comfortable, it's easy to maintain...? The list goes on. I'm sure people will disagree. But surely those people would agree that this is potentially the best 'all around' bike? Well done Honda.
@noidontthinksolol Жыл бұрын
it absolutely is a beginners bike but if you are not comfortable on powerfull or heavier bikes then there is no reason for you to go for something "bigger" I had a cx500 for a while and i absolutely loved it, that doesnt mean that the cx500 isnt a beginner bike. A beginner bike just gets its name because it is easy for beginners to start on, thats it. Its not a dick measuring contest.. My friend who has been into racing like me rode a 125cc supermoto for a long time and he loved it. Hell i would even ride a honda ST (dax) clone minibike or something like that I do love that my nakedbike can go over 270-280kph when its needs too since i only live like one hour from the german highway.

the term beginner bike does not mean you're not having fun on that bike anymore so you have to move up to something more powerful the term needs friendly for people on the throttle because if you give somebody a Superbike and they never even rode a moped they're going to kill themselves it's about learning the power in your hand and what's between your legs the weight of the bike that maneuverability there's a lot of factors it has nothing to do with if you're having fun on it still you can buy a sur on electric e-bike from China which is sold in California and other places now in America and you can upgrade it and do 81 miles an hour and I guarantee you you're still going to be having lots of fun and it weighs 120 lb what's funny is I have never owned one of my life I read one a couple times and I was younger and I still know what the term beginner bike means now you do!

This bike is for people who ride alone whenever they want to. I'm old. I've had Hondas most of my life. I love my 500. I won't winterize it. It is too light for rough rain, but I did 82 miles in constant rain trying to get to a funeral and had to give up. I got stiff. It wasn't the bike's fault. Although my previous bike was the Honda Interstate and I once road from Bandon Oregon to San Leandro California in the rain at night on HWY 101 with ease, so maybe the 500 is not your first choice if rain is part of your life. What I like best is the versatility of this bike. You can get it and out of the house in less than a minute. I keep mine in the patio level mudroom. It does 60 to 70 mph all day long. I just walk it up and down. My Interstate was a fantastic cruiser but really sucked at low speeds and stop signs. I like the 408 lb weight better than the heavier 700 to 900 lb bikes I've had. Even when I was in the Army, my favorite bike was my Kawasaki 500. As I said I'm a loner type. I never ever ride in groups. At 65 years old, this seems like the smartest bike I've owned.

Go with ABS, no matter what. You need it, especially as a beginner rider. It's not a cheat code, it's a "be safe" code. Bikes without ABS can skid very ugly and when someone pulls in front of you(which they will most certainly do), you need to be able to stop fast.
