MvdP doesn't use a dropper seatpost. He's one of the few who prefer lightweight carbon stems. Thus it is missing here.

he's also not a full-time mountain biker, maybe that explains why, lack of time to test?

I bought one wc cf8 3 weeks ago and i came from an Orbea Oiz m10 2023/2024. Canyon is far the best mtbike i ever had. Tones of fun, comfortable and really fast. I only didn’t agree with you David, about bike packing. This bike can be used to do a bikepacking trip/journey. It’s just a question of tune the suspension on the right place and use the right pressure on the tires! Believe! I can’t feel the difference between 120mm travel from orbea to 100mm travel of Canyon. Agree 100% about dropper post. It’s a must have on this bike. In some really aggressive descent i need it. It’s almost a safety thing/feature because this bike has really fast reactions and if it’s needed to go back on the seat, could be late and… yes i fall two days ago because of that… (i was out of saddle and above the rear wheel and trying to come back to seat i simply was spit from bike) The huge difference o felt was the speed i can take with Canyon. God! Sometimes is insane 🤣🤣

I haven't seen MvdP ride the 32 - he gets to the limit of the 34 easily so he wouldn't risk on the 32. Cable loop on the back of a contemporary bike is so retro 1990's, and the cable nest at the front doesn't warrant the high asking price. Over 10kg for a bike without a dropper is too much for a bike having "World Cup" in its name and the lack of capabilities of the recent downcountry bikes that weigh less.
