I’m 63. I’ve owned a lot of cars. Mostly Honda, Acura and Lexus. But THIS is my favorite car ever. I’ll never go back to ICE cars. Although, we do have one for road trips. I love the instant torque and quiet cabin. People complain about the Bose sound system but a few EQ adjustments and I think it sounds great. I can’t wait for the EVs of the future.

Great video review! I was browsing our EV dataset at Predicta and couldn't believe how much customers LOVE the Ioniq 5. We measure sentiment for dimensions of the car on a 0.0 to a 1.0 scale. ALL of the dimensions for the Ioniq 5 measured above 0.9 on the average sentiment scale. Wow! I've never seen that for any of the other EVs we track! It's nice to see great video reviews, but it's also nice to know that actual customers are loving the Ioniq!

Nice re - review! We LOVE our 22 Ioniq5 AWD Ultimate...0 complanits. It hits all the marks for my wife and I. We put on over 1000km per week and road trip a lot. So the fast charging is very nice! We came from a Kona EV which we put 48,000km on in 10 months of owning it. 0 problems with the Kona, so very happy with the quality of the Hyundai products and our dealer has been really good to deal with. No regrets. Oh and the head rests do go forward and back, 3 different positions. Great video - Thank you Mike

If you press the “warmer” hard button where the climate controls are it brings you directly to the screen on the infotainment system for the steering wheel & seat warmers, etc. This makes it where you don’t have to fumble around the options on the touch screen to find them. 😉

I've tested the long-range single motor (225hp) and it still feels quick and does 60mph in the 6.5 second range and, I suspect, will still be plenty for most people. That's last gen GTI performance out of a big, funky hatchback. I loved it.
@DRayL_
@DRayL_ Жыл бұрын
@@MatthewGaither True. Even 6.5 seconds to 60 would be a vast improvement over my current car. The only issue I have with the single motor is that it is rear wheel drive, I believe. Now, is the motor for the single motor in the back to give weight? I'm thinking mostly of winter driving.
@MatthewGaither
@MatthewGaither Жыл бұрын
@@DRayL_ yes the single motor is in the rear. I bought the single motor SEL long range today and have driven both the single and dual motor back to back. The steering feels nicer and more natural in the single motor whereas the dual motor is noticeably faster provided you get deep into the throttle. At light throttle in Normal mode I cant tell a difference. Can’t go wrong either way.

The exterior is by far one of my favorite designs of the century. But I really think Hyundai could have done a better job of the interior: steering wheel, screens, and A/C controls. My opinion on no rear wiper. Your in town stuck in slow moving traffic and its raining. Your back windscreen is impossible to see out of. Driving in town at 30mph when its raining you cant see out of the rear windscreen. Its really early in the morning and you are getting ready to drive to work and its snowing how visibility in all these scenarios is zero. In my opinion doing away with the rear wiper is foolish bordering on dangerous.

My friends that own 3/Ys usually use voice commands for some of those operations - like the glovebox is easy to open with voice because "glovebox" isn't confused with any other words. I haven't tried voice commands in the Ioniq. Reminds me of Matt Watson on CarWow being annoying at "Hey Mercedes" every 5 seconds lol.

Hyundai is still behind Kia when it comes to looks. Kia's design has always been better, dating back to the Optima vs the Sonata. The logo is also better.
