There is no upgraded sound system option and no wireless phone charging. Presence-sensing liftgate requires you to approach the vehicle straight on. Works pretty reliably.

Can you clarify whether the base model that will be coming out toward the end of the year will actually have the same size battery as the existing trim? I heard the battery was going to be smaller and hence less range.

I’ve heard that all models are supposed to get the same 85 kWh battery. GM really wants to market the fact that their EV can go over 315 miles for $35,000ish because right now the competition doesn’t offer that. At least, that’s what I hear from Fellow reviewers press materials.

@@TheRandomAlphaDrive I've heard that too but I also heard Rumblings that the lowest trim may have like a 65 watt hour battery which would drive the price down to what they announced. I hope I'm wrong.

@@mikeintampa250given that it needs to achieve the same range there’s no way that much battery can be cut without some serious weight reduction. It will feature the same 85 kWh ultium pack.

I agree with most of your points, however, model Y is considered a premium SUV unlike the Chevy.. also Tesla has best in class charging infrastructure.. yes, Tesla did open up this to GM but the price per KWH to charge a non Tesla is more.
