This isn't supposed to be YOUR chop of life, nor is it really KZbin's Chop of Life. Hell, there is no "Chop Of Life" because chops and licks always take a backseat to groove, feel, pocket, and appropriate playing. That being said, when you're bored of your own playing, ya feel like you play the same thing over and over; adding a new chop to your playing can give new life to your playing and your enjoyment of the kit. So, this is MY 2024 Chop Of Life because I get super excited to sit down on the kit and discover new and hopefully tasteful ways to use it. That being said... the link for my metronome is below, LOL 🍵🙏🍵🙏

I love this idea. A “chop of life” is any element, unique to each of us, which breathes life into our drumming at the moment. I’ve had a few of those lately. Yours is a healthy reminder that we’re all on our own journeys. Thanks for everything, Mike.

I love the concept here! There is a chop with the bass drum in the Fiona Apple half time shuffle (On the Bound) at around 3:59 in the song that I have been wanting to break down and practice but I cannot tell exactly what is happening. Maybe playing around with this Chop of Life will help me to figure it out!!!
