Even the infamous Will Smith, "irrelevant" comment happened because Profar was trying to start a fight with a rookie pitcher on the Dodgers. Meanwhile Freddie, Mookie, and Ohtani wouldn't be caught dead taunting fans or starting fights. 😂 Edit: Players should never put themselves on the level of the bottom 1% of a fanbase. Yet Machado would fit right in with the biggest thug Dodger fans. And Machado started that shit with Flaherty too, don't even pretend It's the other way around.

Agreed, whenever they get there they tend to make the most of it. 5-0 all time in the NLDS. Yet funny enough the narrative with the Mets is that they haven't been to the playoffs in decades and lose 100 games every year. It's really over the top. The Fox broadcast compared us to the DETROIT LIONS (never won a SB) and called us a doormat franchise. We've had our problems but that's absurd. At least the Mets have won 2 WS, and 5 NL championships in the modern era. This year is the 9th NLCS we've been to. The Dodgers by comparison 16. Not terrible for a 1962 expansion franchise. Padres by comparison who don't get any of that hate have never won anything.

Whether the Mets win the NLCS, the story of how they were able to just get a Wild Card spot is crazy in itself. The Brewers series was incredibly poetic. The Brewers swept the Mets at the very first series of the season and the Mets inadverently started the Brewers chase for a playoff spot. I love how the Mets, who jumpstarted the Brewers chase, also ended it.
@2097PyrosАй бұрын
The Mets going on the warpath started with that Jorge Lopez glove toss after the Dodgers nuked them in late May. Turned out he was misquoted, but even perceiving that to be what he said about them pissed them off, and they channeled that into the game, and well.....they laid waste to the league. My guess is that the Braves ripping the division from them in 2022 sent them into some sort of morale fugue state, resulting in all of 2023, and the first two months of 2024. After the Dodgers series, it was like they had the weight lifted off of them. The final stretch of the Mets getting into the postseason was just as crazy. The Atlanta double-header, for one. Winning that game the way they did rattled the Braves so badly, that they never really put up much of a fight, and one could say that the Mets pretty much let them win, so the Braves, shaken and stirred, and with a postseason spot they really didn't earn (Mets winning both games would have eliminated the Braves), went to San Diego, where the Padres basically took out the trash the Mets sent them. It was like a demon had been slain, the Mets biggest postseason gatekeeper FAILED to do the one thing they actually take pride in, and like any bully, they wilted once the bully victim gets back up and slugs them back. GLORIOUS.

As a Dodgers fan it’s probably the most frustrating playoffs I can remember. How can a team have 6 allstar quality starting pitchers out. Their best remaining starter can only pitch once a week because he is dealing with shoulder issues. Their best right handed reliever is out, so is their best left handed reliever, their allstar first basemen playing at 50% and just yesterday their second basemen got hurt. Has there ever been a team that has dealt with this many injuries and still made the LCS? If so who and when?

Can we talk about how Mookie Betts is the greatest baseball name of all time?
@magnusrylanderАй бұрын
No because it’s not even close to being a good baseball name

Mickey Mantle

Yes we can because his parents chose his destiny at birth by making his initials MLB

I was at Brewers vs Mets game 3 with my gf. I've been a fan of Milwaukee since late 2017. She's been a fan since early 2023. This was both of our first playoff game. I was sitting all the way up in the nosebleed seats in section 408 by the right field foul pole. I could see the ball in the air and all I remember is the 3rd base coach with his arms in the air as seen in the video, and Alonso rounding the bases. I couldn't see the ball actually land due to the overhang, but yeah I was so mad. We didn't leave the parking lot until like an hour after the game. 😢 saddest walk of shame in my life...
