I cant find cloth at all. I spent 5 hours in 5 different servers dying over and over and over again and I found 40 cloth in total. Made a bow only once and got killed instantly.

Try getting scrap, go to outpost and buy tactical gloves, then recycle the gloves and thread you get. Easy 200+ cloth 😊

run the roads, you'll find a bunch of clothing you dont need and tarps/rope/sewing kits which can recycle. once you get a crossbow or pipe shotgun cloth comes so easy from the animals

😂 great beginners guide to the 1st hour of wipe day. Just my opinion, don't waste scrap on a T1 bench. First day should be placing bags and spending scrap on decent BP's, find a landmark near your bag to place a stashes (tc,metal,build stuff). Once clans have moved in you'll know where to build. Build a base, head to outpost and collect everything on the way. Make a T2 bench using it's T1 bench, first time on a server you should set a goal to learn the BP's you want. telling new people to build in the snow is kind of a bad idea. Snow has more nodes and ice lakes which attracted clans and higher level players. When I was first starting I found the desert to usually be fairly safe and easy to build and live in.

Complete noob, less than an hour in game. So I get no say over my race or gender? Just random? I started with a basic goal. Collect 100 wood, craft a camp fire, place a campfire. Got the wood, crafted the fire, placed it, even lit it. No credit for placing the campfire. The fact that there is no guide or tutorial or explanation for anything seems very odd for a game this popular. The server wipes, so you lose everything completely? Starting from complete scratch every time? That might be a deal breaker for me.

Yea, it’s a rough game to start. You’re correct that you get no say over your character and server wipe wise the only thing you may get to keep is any BPs you researched sometimes those wipe too

There is an article in some gaming magazine where the dev explains that the reason for the forced avatar is to tell the difference between players on the server. ........I just got a refund, fortunately I found out before the 2 hours were up. Funny part is I play different races and genders on other games, I like to mix it up. Those who would say I'm being racist are just lazy. I dont want any ideology forced on me in my video games, even an ideology I believe in. Same thing if they were interjecting religion into my video games, even a religion I adhere to. The answer the company gives for doing this is so that players are easier to distinguish from each other. Nonsense. If that were the case they would redetermine your gender and race each different server you went to, to compensate for clusters (too many females, make this spawn a male. Too many white dudes on this server, make this spawn a black woman). From what I saw, there are only 4 looks, not counting the faceplate which you have to be super close just to tell the difference. So I saw black guy, black girl, white guy, white girl. Not do diverse for telling us all apart. Why dont they also make some toons overweight? and others super skinny. I didnt see a lot of different tones either, why arent there light brown, heck there are thousands of tones. If telling us all apart, why dont they do this as well? It's just a nonsense excuse to explain away ideology. Too bad, looked pretty fun, but I dont support any business that forces ideology, again even one I agree with. It doesnt belong in a video game. A good example of this: Imagine you go to a Honda dealer to buy a new car. You've been shopping around and you decide that of the several choices you were considering, you go with the Honda. So you go to the dealer, tell them the model you want, sign the papers, go through the whole process, then they pull your new car up and it's green. You dont really mind green, but you told them that you wanted the blue one. They proceed to tell you "Sorry, we decided that there are too many blue hondas out there, so we decided you get green. The color of the car has no bearing on it's functionality and since it says Honda on the back it's our car, so either take green or pound sand.' Pound sand it is. I dont have a problem with green at all, but no way this business is going to dictate to me like that. What was my second choice? If they want my money, I'll bet they sell me a blue one.
