Cowboy Carter is actually good. People hating and don’t realize it’s a misogynoir agenda takedown. It’s got so many homages to Americana. It honors Southern artists (which she is) legacies upon which the album was built AND put so many Black Country artists on a larger map. It’s got as many ear worms as Alligator Bites Never Heal. It’s a good album. She was snubbed at the CMA’s to the point where I felt sad for her the way y’all feel so sad for Billie. Let artists be artists and leave the conspiracies alone until there’s actual factual proof. I don’t even big up awards like that cuz they’ve always been pandering or old guard to me so it’s not even like I’m sticking up for these wins. I’m just so annoyed by people who suddenly claim it’s rigged because the one they wanted didn’t win or the one they hated did. Like… it’s a wide vote and the dial don’t shift until the voting demographic does.
