The $23 BILLION Plan to POWER Singapore from Australia

The Northern Territory, or NT, of Australia has a lot of space and plenty of sunlight, while 4,374 kilometers away, Singapore is severely lacking in space and wants to shift to renewable energy sources. This has led to one of the most ambitious renewable energy projects in the world - a $23 billion to power Singapore from Australia.

It's far better to invest in Northern Territory' Green Energy industry and import either Hydrogen or Natural Gas to Singapore. Direct transmission of energy is of high risk with unforeseen factors. And, It's more prudent to go with Green Energy.

Why is it still thought solar panels are best in the desert? At high temperatures they do not operate efficiently or produce the expected energy.

You want places with as few clouds as possible. Deserts tend to be arid.

In the old days yes. But DC tech has over come the barriers it faced and now at long distance does better than AC power delivery.

By increasing the voltage and lowering the current. This is done by the Chinese government in china where power were transfer from north to south.
