Two thing I hate about arena breakout is how the grass rendition work. To you it renders and hide you, but to your enemy few meters in front of you, you are sitting duck. Another thing is how the sound indicator system works. It visually show you the enemy position and kinda break the immersion for me. Other than that good game.

@@anwaryamin23 the sound indicators are a work around for people who don't have good earphones and a lot of mobile gamers don't use em, but to be honest it's kinda dumb to not use headphones since Sound Cues like Grenade pulls and healing uses are a major role in combat, They really should take those away since it's kinda the player's fault for not using Earphones on a hardcore shooter in the first place

the more I play Reforger the more exited I get for ARMA 4. Reforger itself is an ok but flawed milsim PVP experience. but it has SO MANY improvements over ARMA 3.

What’s also cool about reforger is that the mod community is much more vast than on first glance. We have a thriving Vietnam community with 3-4 full servers on a daily basis, modern warfare community is always strong with Russian (and PLA forces now) added with mods fighting against US and British modded forces. And the halo community is coming up to! We already have warthogs and pelicans (soon falcon too), most of the needed armor for UNSC forces, a floating Paris Class Frigate and Iroquois just got added today, and drop pods are nearly finished! The modding community has roots, and is still growing here!

Crashes occasionally, but no worse than some AAA games Ive played, fortunately it loads back up very fast and you can be back in the game within 30 seconds. Navigating your inventory is quite a challenge at first, I recommend having a mouse plugged into your Xbox for that

It's nice to be able to finally get a glimpse on how immersive a mil-sim could be as an xbox player. Gamepad controls might not be the best choice for the scope of something like ARMA but for me they work pretty damn well, once you get used to it. I got like 100 hours of (play-)time, minus waiting for mods to download and I guess I'll at least double that in 2024. It's clunky, but its damn fun. Hell Let Loose, Reforge, and even Insurgency should be a "sign" to developers that us console-idiots are in need for something more complex and hardcore in the FPS-world.

@@deadpxlThe way Reforger has done it is a nice compromise the interactive cockpits and such are nice and visually pleasing, but a keyboard user could bind a lot more buttons to do things quickly. Console players will just have to cope with how they'll have inferior reactions & control options (like not being able to bind grenade to double tapping g to avoid funny gamer moments) but I feel as if their inclusion doesn't intrude on the PC experience too much.

obviously I can't speak for how pc players seem to "suffer" - but to me it's a good thing to include consoles (obviously) - and after all, if I, as an xbox player feel like my gamepad controls suck as much as pc players always seem to think it does I could always, for some games at least, just plug-in m&k and just live with my loss. Porting something like Squad in it's current state to consoles might not be a good idea, but creating a new plattform like Rerforger with consoles in mind, while ARMA3, witch is way more complex, still hast it's incredible player- and modder-base can not be a bad idea imo - at least for the 'community' - but that might be a little too 'gaming-esotheric'

Here's an interesting idea for a future update for gamesnlike these: When you have teams that are supposedly from different nations on a game with VOIP, get an AI filter that takes the voices of players and translates their speech into the language used by the military you're representing. So if you're playing as Russian fighters, the AI filter translates your VOIP to the English-speaking team as Russian and vice versa. It could also work to where each team gets to pick their language (by poll before the game starts) the opposing team hears in VOIP. That way, your opponents can't understand what your teammates are saying (unless they speak the language), but you can tell through VOIP that they're hearing enemies. Or you could make the VOIP languge just become gibberish for the opposing team for the same reason. You could also have a Terp perk where one person can hear their chosen language from an AI system that allows an instant, real-time translation so at least that person knows what's being said when they're near enemies or has an enemy receiver radio. I just think it woulf add an element of realism to these kinds of games that would allow players to get a truly realistic sense of the environment rather than being confused by hearing a bunch of people speaking English yet playing for opposing forces (or playing with groups speaking different languages on the same team, or on opposing teams.) Once the tech gets to that level, there are a lot of opportunities for games like this (or Squad/Tarkov) to take advantage of instant audio translation that allows all people to play in matches that simulate the various languge barriers often found in foreign-force engagements.

ArmA Reforger is great fun; even the unmodded vanilla Cold War setting. There is obviously still a lot to add, but it's perfectly playable, I hardly get any kicks any more or CTD. I'm not that much of a PvP player in ArmA, but it works pretty nicely. I hope they will improve a lot on the AI soon, so we can have actual PvE campaigns and ops. With the seamless mod experience who actually needs to wait for ArmA4? ;)

11:55 literally happened to me in Arma 3 when I joined a random server and was ferrying multiple groups of people into combat. I did the flight path like 4 times and on the 5th time the enemy had taken the area around where I usually landed so I diverted and flew straight into powerlines without thinking about it. So many games don't have solid power lines and I just face palmed when it happened and got auto-banned for team killing because I wasn't on the pilot whitelist.

The scope with red dot on top that you were using is my favorite. You can turn off the illumination of the red dot at night so that it doesn't glow but you can also use the same key bind when looking down the scope to turn the reticle red instead of black

I bought Reforger recently cause of the boost in popularity and after hearing that it got some updates that made it a relatively steady game, but the lack of communication and cohesion with the squad was extremely frustrating. I felt like I was lone wolfing and fighting with other teammates on the field more than I was with my own squad 😭😂 They really need to have grouping up and identifying squad members a bit easier, at least on the map, cause if I can see teammates on the map, I should be able to see squaddies

With the enemy rocking a shit load of RPGs you need to teach these boys about spacing out while engaging so an RPG only gets 1 instead of 3 or 4 or 3/4s of the squad

I think this Reforger is pretty cool, I tried it before but had some problems previously that caused me to stop playing. I might get back into it because of this, I think it's a great module that when Arma 4 comes out will create a huge diverse community. Also the flying from the pilot at the beginning was amazing, people who spend a few hundred to get a good reactive stick and throttle plus pedals go above and beyond to bring you a cool flying experience.
