Escape PHEV - what's the story? No incentives, no $3,750 pass-through - does Ford not care?

Wait... The invoice for the Tacoma is $41K. If you deduct the 77% (residual value) from the car, the customer will be responsible for a lease of no more than $8k. How do you get a monthly lease of $445+??? Something needs to be fixed. Even if you add taxes and the MF, it should NOT be at most $400. A residual value of .77% is enormous, and the loan should be very low.

Let me write this so it can make sense. Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sport MSRP: $44,980 Invoice Price: $41,783 Lease Term: 36 months Residual Value: 77% of MSRP Money Factor: .0032 Lease Calculation Breakdown Residual Value Calculation: MSRP: $44,980 Residual Value: $44,980 * 0.77 = $34,636.60 Depreciation Amount: Depreciation = (Invoice Price - Residual Value) / Lease Term Depreciation = ($41,783 - $34,636.60) / 36 Depreciation = $7,146.40 / 36 Depreciation = $198.51 per month I am not paying MSRP and need all the rebates, dealer discounts, and available incentives.

What does the Res… mean higher or lower the better
@nishantthaccker1173
@nishantthaccker1173 3 ай бұрын
Higher is better I guess - The main purpose of leasing is NOT to buy the car at lease end. So the higher the residual, the lower the monthly payments, and then you walk away at the end of the lease.

@@nishantthaccker1173 Exactly! That means your monthly should be no more than $412 (the highest). Right??

Legend tyvm❤ I think trucks though should be a bonus and not count in thr top 10. Very few niche people would lease a truck as a daily and the business people who write of leases who need trucks will get them regardless.

I understand MSRP, but what is invoice?
@billywilly7951
@billywilly7951 3 ай бұрын
it's what the dealer "pays" for the car from manufacturer. So in most cases without getting to complicated, they profit difference from selling the car at msrp.

@@billywilly7951 Right! So, try to get the dealer to lower the price of the car. Don't pay MSRP.
@billywilly7951
@billywilly7951 3 ай бұрын
@@jackies35 it depends, sometimes a dealer selling at msrp is already a loss, thats why the push for "extras" such as accessories. Sometime difference between invoice and msrp is as small as 60 bucks. If you want a vehicle that is in high demand, then msrp is not bad. With more widely available, certainly go for the discount!

That’s not necessarily true… a lot of people are leasing cars with good resale value because if the buyout price (which is set at the beginning of the lease) is less than the residual value, you can make a profit by either flipping the car or turning that equity into things like the down payment on that car, on another car, or onto your next lease if you choose to re-lease with the dealer. There are potential ways to save money or even make a profit on leasing cars with good resale value like this
