I play Les Pauls using a TS808 into a 1987x or now the Origin 50H, just mainly as a boost. I've always had a Tubescreamer it is essential gear to me.

I have a TS Mini, Rat 2, and TC Electronic Spark Mini. The Spark Mini always comes at the end of my Distortion/Overdrive/Boost section. Still experimenting with pedal order, but use Orange amps. Pretty sure whatever sound I get out of it, that combo will sound amazing, but still finding my perfect tone, especially since I just outfitted my Les Paul with a Super Distortion in the Bridge and will be dropping in a Super 2 for the neck position, which will push the amp as well.

im a beginner , some brief history i first started playing when i was 8, took lessons at 10, and kept playing in 12 was in junior band but then when i got into highschool i stopped playing (not cause i chose to but alot was going on and i was focusing on sports, then i fell with a bad crowd, drugs blah blah blah i do regret stopping alot my dream was and still is to be in a band and even just play bars or anywhere id be more then happy playing a bar every weekend lol) so now im 25 i picked it back up at 23, off and on because i was using the same crap strat knockoff with the same crap amp that came with it with the same strings LOL this isnt even squire it was a XS Cargo bundle a liquidation store in canada) then i bought my first real guitar a slash les paul special ii afd and i fell back in love with guitar and have been playing every single day ever since... my first pedal was a dunlop wah then a DS1 , and just a couple weeks ago i bought a TS9 and by FAR the TS9 is everything what people say, it makes EVERYTHING sound Better!!! im a intermidiate now i upgraded to a Epiphone Les Paul 50s standard (gold top) and i eat sleep breath guitar again!, mt 10 yr old self would be proud, im playing all the songs i dreamt of playing, and this TS9 is the best pedal ever ,

I use it before my Victory V4 "The Jack" but I have a wampler ego compressor in front of that. Then into a clean boost then a keely caverns into the return of the home made effects loop . I sometimes hook it 4 cable.. depends on my mood. But there's some of my chain. I have an eq and want a noise gate, but ... money it goes too fast.

@@Deadhansome compared your katana with a lamp amp next to it ... without putting too much money into a jtm45 plexi. but a marshall origin 20 for example, well you will be very surprised. you will see that your katana does not sound good and has no dynamics. the sound with a lamp is warm open and limpid round. you always have to compare with something to get an idea. @@quoimagueule628 apples and oranges. The Katana is an excellent amp for the money and all it takes is a little patience tweaking settings for a great sound. @professorpedropontes4402 Жыл бұрын
Hey Alan, I have found that putting the TS after the distortion pedal gives best results for leads. The reason being, you need the extra volume, and that only happens with the TS after your RAT. I think you’ve got a killer combo there. I hope you haven’t given it up by now. Do as I say and you will be just fine. I’ve done that myself.

Was the tube screamer in the effects loop of each amp or was it guitar>TS>Front end of the amp? And with something like the tube screamer - what adjustments have to be made depending on if you're running it in the effects loop vs into the front? There are still lots of us out there with low/mid range amps that lack an effects loop and would need to know if the TS still works as advertised.
@anomalousresult3 жыл бұрын
Distortion effects should generally be placed between the guitar and amp input, otherwise it's not pushing the preamp valves at all. That is almost certainly the setup he had.

Sort of a noob here, I have a Fender Princeton Reverb, a special edition model with a 12 inch speaker, I cant get it dirty up like this, even with my TS808. I notice in the video that the amp is ALREADY dirty and the TS seems to just sort of enhance the dirt that is already there. Can this pedal make my amp (which I'm told is a great pedal platform) go from clean distorted like this? Or does it need to already have a dirty channel? I'm so confused, and I tried to follow the lesson but he goes so fast lol.
@professorpedropontes4402 Жыл бұрын
Problem is, most Fender amps aren’t that dirty. I’d get an overdrive pedal and boost it with the TS. Boss OD3 comes to mind. Marshall Guv’Nor too.
