These exercises are incredibly helpful! I've been following tutorials forever, and I've never seen anyone mention the switch and doubles. Thanks a lot Gym Pro!

Just wondering why do ypu count strung from the Bottom not from the Top which makes more sense ?
@guitargympro5 ай бұрын
It is the standard way of counting strings - I’m not actually sure where it started from. It is back wards from piano (C1 is low and C5 is high). But, if you buy a method book or see another video or take a class - it’s how they are numbered.

All I know is I can't do any rate of speed at all, it takes time to move any finger initially then some flow for that switching exercise. I'm going to do that every day for a month and see what happens. Thanks for this.

I have a question. From simple to com-lex… hoe does one take on ‘learning a song/‘. I learn tunes too but have recently been encouraged to learn a song and play my guitar and sing at the same time… I get lost trying to do this.. it is new to me…. Pat

That’s a lot to answer in just a comment on KZbin. Do you want to take everything in bite-size chunks. Make sure you know the chords. Make sure you can change between them. Learn the strumming pattern for each section. Learn to sing without playing the guitar. Start adding those two things together. Do that slowly with a metronome. Eventually speed up enough that you can play along with the record I’ve got a free community at skool.com/Guitar where I walk you through how to do exactly that, and it’s free.

I have big hands but can't reach the top string with my pinky. I swear my pinky is crooked lol. I'm on week 3 of practicing so I hope it will "straighten out"
@guitargympro6 ай бұрын
Playing guitar gets your fingers in a way. They’ve never moved before. It definitely takes a little bit. Instead of asking, if you can get to the top string with your pinky, I would ask is is my pinky able to get further than it was before? Stay relaxed, go slow, and you will get there :-)

No sound
@guitargympro5 ай бұрын
I don't know if you mean at all (that's probably a settings issues). Or if you mean on the guitar. But there isn't supposed to be sound on the first 2 exercises. They are pretty quiet since there's no picking or strumming. :)
