Plumlee actually has been very good with Jokic when they do play together. Their second best offensive lineup had them paired up together as well as with murray, barton, and chandler. Rare token Denver Nuggets fan signing out. P.S. Love the channel, keep up the good work.
@michaelbourke33627 жыл бұрын
The nuggets wanted Plumlee so they could run the same style of offence (passing through their bigman) when jokic subbed out. When nurkic was coming off the bench for jokic, the rhythm was ruined because nurkic was just a traditional low post big guy. I know everyone's complaining that they gave up a first round pick, but they're already loaded with young talent and are struggling to find minutes as it is for jamal murray, juancho hernangomez and Malik Beasley.

I don't think the 76's entertained the idea because they were tanking. I understand the trade for a guard seeing as that is a Center/Forward heavy team. You made a good point in saying they probably could have done better than Justin Anderson but honestly you are trading two athletic guys. Justin Anderson needs to really work on his shooting but I feel like the athleticism and the drive is potentially there. Also the Mavericks I feel like did well with that trade because they were lacking a starting athletic Center and defensive anchor. Hopefully, Noel turns into something solid for them as that team needs all the help it can get.

Mason Plumlee is pretty solid although Nurkic has a better potential as a starter in this league.
@JruJewJitsu7 жыл бұрын
The point for the Mason Plumelee trade was to allow Nuggets to run their offense even when Jokic is on the bench. Nuggets run a unique offense with Jokic near the free throw line and 4 players on the perimeter cutting and screening. Mason is a good athletic passer with a similar skillet to Jokic. It was a really good trade Mason Plumelee was REALLY valuable on the market at the time.

To anybody who says the Boogie trade, the trade worked out well for both teams. The Pelicans obviously got a top 15 player. But Buddy Hield was a very efficient scorer for the Kings and the Kings got a top 10 draft pick.

The Sixers had to trade Noel. He's a free agent this summer and they weren't going to pay him because their frontcourt is loaded. Embiid, Saric, Holmes, Okafor, Simmons. It was a trade to gain assets instead of letting a player walk.
@joshhoward18987 жыл бұрын
I really feel like all the people saying that the Boogie trade was bad are just regurgitating what they heard from first take and such without really understanding the context of the trade. The trade worked out for both parties. Kings have cap space, a lights out shooting guard, and much better chemistry while the Pels got the best center in basketball.
@ChewyGummy177 жыл бұрын
I do think that the Noel's trade is pretty good for the both sides. The Sixers doesnt want Nerlens because it DOES creates a jam on power forward position with okafor, simmons, saric and covington. And I think Nerlens doesnt like getting his minutes get cut and Dallas is the perfect place for him cuz they need a Tyson Chandler like player.
@BlueHundred17 жыл бұрын
The Nuggets and Blazers pick wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't a first round pick included. To me, the Nuggets traded an upset starting caliber center and a first round pick for a bench center. I get that Nurkic was angry and they wanted to get rid of him and that dropped his value but it still seemed like an overpay. The Sixers trade was also weird. Great for the Mavs but I agree that the Sixers could have gotten a better trade had they not waited. Also, I don't see the rush in getting rid of Noel so quickly

Damn u were right about my guy justin Anderson he didn’t develop the 3. Never really had a fair opportunity tho either. Dropped like 50 in the g league tho
@peterlidstone78017 жыл бұрын
Alright, call me crazy but I think Rich Cho might be playing us all for fools. If I were to write up an offseason whiteboard for the hornets. I'd prioritize getting a back up point guard (preferably an offensive threat that could play alongside walker down the stretch), then a versatile bigman to pair with kaminsky in the 2nd unit, and finally a true small forward (preferably a 3andD kind of guy). Thats alot to ask for considering the lack of cap available and unlikelyhood of a high draft pick. So I reckon Cho got Plumlee to the hornets, less so to play and more so to trade. As you said Plumlee had one break out season with the Suns. With Alex Len a restricted free agent (Likely to get anywhere from roughly 9-14m a year) and Alan Williams unrestricted; the Suns only really have one true center in Tyson Chandler (34 and counting). The Suns do however have a plethora of guards. Bledsoe, Ulis and Knight. Bledsoe is straight balling, Ulis is extremely good value and knight had probably his worst season to date. Whether its the fact he was coming off the bench to back up Ulis or the effect of an injury. Did not live up to expectations or his salary. 13.6m next year. So Suns get rid of an expensive contract pg that hasn't fit well within their system recently and Hornets get rid of an expensive contract bigman that hasn't proven himself yet (2nd round pick probably needed to even out). Personally I think that Knight could thrive in Charlotte, internal competition with Walker and providing a much needed intensity off the bench. 'With the 11th pick Charlotte select Zach Collins'. He's a tall white guy with college success; of course charlotte are going to draft him - Jokes. But he does fit the need of high upside versatile bigman whom is likely to fall to them. Reckon he has the capability to play alongside Zeller and help stretch the floor or alongside Kaminsky and live in the post. And finally in free agency. It may be a big year for free agent point guards but it also happens to be quite deep for small forwards. With the mid level exception hornets are now entitled to; I think Thabo Sefolosha is a very attainable prospect. Although he is more D than 3; he would fit rather seamlessly into Cliffords rotation/ethos. So with limited resources Cho has efficiently managed to attain all his teams most desperate needs. Crafty bugger.

The reason why the Sixers traded Noel away was because he's gonna get the max when he isn't worth that. Sixers weren't going to resign him and got Justin Anderson from it. No reason to just let Noel walk for nothing in free agency, if you're able to get players and picks for him.
@reznortetrault43487 жыл бұрын
I think you're downplaying the impact Nurkic brought to the Blazers. He instantly became a double double guy and averaging 15pts a game as the third option. Also it was the defense that was bad prior to that trade not the offense for the Blazers

I'm sorry for my question but what does the +- stat means?
@1survivor5667 жыл бұрын
+- measures how well a team plays with a player on the court against an opponent over a period of time. Usually a game or a season. So for an example If Dion Waiters is +23 in a game for the Heat that means that while he was on the court in that game the Heat outscored the other team by 23 points. If Dion Waiters was -14 in a game for the Heat that means that the other team outscored the Heat by 14 points while he was on the court.

Funky, there is no way having Noel and embiid share the paint was going to work. Embiid can shoot but you don't want him hanging out there as a primary option. His real skills come out of his post game. Also, Noel can't defend the 4 or be switched into a guard in the pick and roll. The personnel and money just made no sense to keep Nerlens on the roster

@mitchellellicott17877 жыл бұрын
Noel is the type of defensive player that can turn a bad defensive team into a good one.if he just came off the bench you have guaranteed that your second unit will play good d. the 76ers were 12 and 11 when Noel played more than 12 mins. he brings defense, energy and a target are the rim on offense, which is exactly what you want from your back up centre. I think it's also safe to say he would of become much more valuable on offense when the 6ers got some half decent creators and passers like Simmons actually paying with him. the only solace I can take from that trade is that at least Richard Holmes seems half decent and could be a good back up C. they need to trade the fuck outta okafor though.
@xavier76thman7 жыл бұрын
Mitchell Ellicott Richaun is already a better offensive player than Nerlens he can hit 3's and do everything inside that Noel can do I think he's better
@kardiognosta7 жыл бұрын
Holmes should have a much larger role; I think at this point it's obvious that Phila's real weak link in their front court is Okafor, he'll almost certainly never be transcendent enough of a passer to justify his post-oriented style of play, which at this point is obsolescent. And that fails to mention his extreme deficiencies as a defender in this PNR age.
@mitchellellicott17877 жыл бұрын
Xavier Gonzalez I agree about Holmes being the better offensive player and he brings a lot of hustle so I'm not devastated Noel has been traded but I think on a good team Noel has the chance to be a perennial DPOTY type player.

Collangelo should have been fired for that trade. We got nothing in return for him. Now were stuck with Shit Anderson and way more 2nd rounders than we can ever sign. God fucking dammit that trade made me angry as Noel could have played some minutes with Embiid and backed him up for 15+ minutes as well. I'd rather gamble on that and him leaving for a max deal than have this trade. Give away Okafor instead if you're that desperate. Okafor will never have the impact that Noel will have in this league, he might become defensive player of the year for Dallas.

Cavs should have traded for Nurkic. He has another year of rookie salary next season. If the Nuggets traded Nurkic and a first round for Plumlee then surely they would have traded Nurkic for Dunleavy or Frye, and a second round pick! Or what about trading JR Smith to the Nuggets for Nurkic and a first round pick! Shed salary and keep your Dunleavy and 2nd rounder to get Korver. Then you have Korver and Shumpert anyway so it's almost like you don't even need JR. And you have Nurkic to go down low with Love and TT vs the Warriors. On another note, Hawks have low key given away their whole team with the Teague trade last summer and the Korver trade this year. Watch Millsap leave for the Jazz or some shit and all Atlanta have left is Dwight and Dennis. (Bonus prediction- Splitter signs with Warriors this summer and takes Zaza place)
