You can still use wired USB C if you don't want any latency 👍😁
@nycalien13 сағат бұрын
@Space97. No, USB-C doesn't have a DAC. Also how do you charge while listening with USB-C?

I got an HMD Pulse+ from work and that has headphone jack. While the Pulse+ is a fine work phone I wouldn't use it as a daily driver, but it does come with guides & parts on Ifixit like the Fusino and the Skyline. Disassembly is a bit more difficult (requires a pick, and maybe som acetyl alcohol depending on your fix) but doable.

Normally I have a hard time watching these destructive tests because it makes me cringe watching a perfectly good device get ruined and torn apart but the durability and repairability of these phones really got me through. I am genuinely impressed. Hopefully they give the next version of their tablet the same treatment.

This is a great "first phone for your teenager" option - if they break it, they can save up and fix it themselves.

Great phone but i wish it wasn't so ugly, square corners are horrible
@JMNTN15 сағат бұрын
apparently this is only going to get 2 android version updates and 3 years security updates, what's the point of it being repairable if it's obsolete in just a few years

Also no way to unlock the bootloader.. so no custom ROMs.
@Spr1nt13 сағат бұрын
@@-eMpTy-Yeah, what the hell. I have the G22 (also marketed as self repairable), but unless you can get the bootloader unlock code, which only Nokia has and doesn't give out, there's no way even though you can toggle the 'OEM Unlock' setting. No TWRP, Magisk or ROMs.

no you`re not. I mean it would be cool but I don`t believe in a 12 year old battery still holding enough charge even for half a day... You`d need to use that wired and then what`s even the point of a phone when it has to stay being charged all the time?

Hmd is actually not new company . It's the company, wich made Nokia phones for a long time. Now, Nokia is dead, so the company sells phones under their own name.
@lefebvrere14 сағат бұрын
@Internat-doener-federation Which just really irks me. Had HMD actually made phones just like this under the Nokia brand, Nokia would still be alive and thriving to this day.
@Internat-doener-federationСағат бұрын
@lefebvrere no. HMD had to pay Nokia, to use their name. So hmd didn't want to pay that much money just for the name...

@samsunggalaxynote386814 сағат бұрын
Sheep or domestic sheep are a domesticated, ruminant mammal typically kept as livestock. Although the term sheep can apply to other species in the genus Ovis, in everyday usage it almost always refers to domesticated sheep. Like all ruminants, sheep are members of the order Artiodactyla, the even-toed ungulates. @@celiskurtis

No matter how good your hardware is or how repairable your device is, it will still go down to one question, how many years of software update will it have? I think people should demand longer software update not just repairability. My s20+ is still freakin usable after 4 years and I have no plans to upgrade at all but security patches might end next year so there's no point using it as my main phone after that. Sucks right?

The warranty definitely voids if there's liquid or physicial damage on the components though, some customers are very rough with their devices when they try to do the work themselves and often worsen the condition of the device, so i would still suggest to go to a repair shop and tell them about the phone and the parts on the manufacturers website, at least I would be happy to do it at mine!
