The 33rd Jagadguru of Sringeri

In the unbroken lineage of Jagadgurus of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham stretching directly back to Sri Adi Shankaracharya, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji is the 33rd Jagadguru. Because of the many similarities of his life to Sri Adi Shankaracharya and his immense achievements, he is considered to be a reincarnation of Sri Shankaracharya. On May 24, 2012 we will celebrate the 100th Aradhana (Videha Mukti day) of this great sage who rediscovered the birthplace of Sri Shankaracharya at Kalady and established temples there; instituted the Shankara Jayanti celebrations and led the first ever compilation of the complete works of Sri Shankaracharya.
Told in the words of the 36th and current Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Sringeri, Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, this short film gives us an insight into the life of this great soul and why his efforts were so pivotal for vibrance of Sanatana Dharma today.

This is the 21st shloka/verse of a 28-verse composition called "Sri Shankaracharya-Stotra-Kadambam" by the 33rd Jagadguru of Sringeri, Jagadguru Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamiji. The Mahaswamiji composed this in 1910 in Kalady. The collected works (hymns and short essays on Vedanta) of the Mahaswamiji have been published under the name Bhakti Sudha Tarangini, and are available in Sanskrit, and also as separate publications with translations in Kannada/Tamil.
