The magic system in the crimson moth isn't based on period blood, but just blood with wounds/scars playing a big part which is the reason for using period blood in the book.

I think there is suppose to be a third book to the Ninth House series!! I don't know when it'll come out, but I'm pretty sure I saw that there is going to be one! Which I can't wait for, because the second book did leave off on such a big cliff hanger!! I did read all of the Lovelight Farms books, and while I did enjoy them, they weren't amazing. Lovelight Farms was by far my favorite out of all of them, with In the Weeds being my least favorite, so you're not missing much by not continuing them. I don't actually know how many series I'm in the middle of, but I'm curious now after watching this video!

Currently In the Middle of: 1: The first Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. ((A new favorite, I'm obsessed. I will be finishing this month)) 2: Prince of the Doomed City: by Sylvia Mercedes ((the covers make it look like it's a smutty read, but it's really not. No spice so far and I'm in book 4 of 5.. it's cute. I will finish these this year.)) 3: Caraval: I need to read 'Finale'.. i keep putting it off. 4: The prison Healer: I read the first. I need to keep going. 5: An ember in the Ashes: It was so good. why have I not read more? It's been a year.

I understand your issue with the Red Queen Series. I think that Glass Sword is not particularly important, but there are some vital character moments that occur throughout the book that change the trajectory of the series as a whole. King’s Cage is very different, and it may remind you more of the first book. Just had to share my thoughts!

1. The Divine Cities Trilogy - Robert Jackson Bennet. I’m on book two and hoping to finish before the end of the year. 2. Realm of the Elderlings - Robin Hobb. I’ve read her first two trilogies and want to start The Tawny Man but am a bit Leary of returning to emo boi Fitz POV. 3. The Captives War Trilogy and The Expanse series by James SA Corey. I started the trilogy because only book 1 (The Mercy of the Gods) was out so I figure by the time I get around to books 6-9 of The expanse at least book 2 would be finished 😂. 4. Maybe will read more of the Suneater series? I did not love book one (Empire of Silence) but people say it gets better after that. 5. What the Library Hides (Secrets of the Nile book 2) - Isabel Ibanez Some others I’m waiting for books to come out to read are: Book 2 of the Shadow of the Leviathan by Robert Jackson Bennet (First one is the Tainted Cup), the 3rd Fallen Gods book by Hannah Kaner, Books 2 of The Rising Worlds by Martha Wells. There are more but the list is a bit exhaustive. DNFed Beartown series by Fredrik Bachmann. Old Man’s War series by John Scalzi this year. Couple others but can’t remember

@@jaimefok Honestly it was the pacing issues. The first half of book 1 was soooo slow and the hook of the book (around halfway) was so obvious I just kept waiting for it to happen so we could get to the meat of the plot. There were some PoVs I enjoyed but overall too many of them. I felt fine with how the first one ended and didn’t really feel a pull to read the other two. I’m also a bit cutthroat and will axe a series after book one if I don’t like it because I hate the “it gets better in later books so just hang on” mentality.

I have so many series i’m in the middle of. I have the sequel of The Atlas Six but i’m genuinely thinking of giving it away because the thought of reading it alone already gives me a reading slump 😂 The other series I have a sequel of is Six Crimson Cranes, The Daughter of The Moon Goddess, Dark Rise, These Violent Delights,.. some i’m going to continue reading but others are still on the table 😅

There are only 2 series I currently have plans for. I am partway thru Iron Flame and have pre-ordered a special edition of Onxy Storm. I am going to read A Court Of Mist and Fury as a December pick for a book club I am in. I already have the book. There are many series I started and have yet to read the 2nd book. I want to read the sequel to Divine Rivals. Although I found Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faries a little underwhelming, I want to read the 2nd book. I want to read the sequel to This Poison Heart. I have the sequel to All of Us Villains and want to read it. These are just the ones off the top of my head😊

V.E Schwab has said that she's currently writing "Victorious", the third book in the villains series. I suppose that it'll come after the standalone (which will be published summer 2025). Then she will continue with the fragile threads of power. We'll wait quite a time... (I can't bear it🥺)

The mortal instruments (book 2) There’s a bunch more but these are the series I’m likely to continue except the broken earth series and the locked tomb maybe 😭

I've only read the first two so far - it took me months to decide to pick up the second one because I thought the first was just ok. I really enjoyed the second one! It was super fun and while the stakes were much higher, it somehow felt more believable at the same time. I'm excited to pick up the third!

I'm certain i started watching the 'Things we never got over' as a film on the telly once. It definitely started with her going to a coffee shop and finding out that shes 'banned' but its actually her twin sister and then there's a guy she hates and then she finds out she has a niece and then i stopped watching BUT when i bought the things we never got over and read the blurb i was like wait, i watched this plot, but i can not find the film anywhere on google!! it drives me so crazy i refused to read the book lol

I remember you raved about the Inheritance Games, and I couldn't get through the first one because I felt it was too young for me. I haven't deleted them yet mainly because I also think, I wasn't in the right headspace for them...
