What about a 3rd line of Berggren / Rasmussen / Soderblom? Ras and Elmer eat up space, go to the corners and net front, and generally grab the opponents attention to free up Burgers to do Burger things

team has 1 legit center. Compher has been horrific all year, with or without Lalonde coaching. he's a line torturer. Copp has also fallen off significantly recently after promising work centering the duo for a few weeks. Kasper was so bad he's now a winger. Veleno was so bad he was just scratched. it's a bad bad center situation.

They should move Kasper back to center between Kane and Debrincat. Move Compher to wing and Rasmussen 3rd line center.

@@danb239 wouldn't be shocked if it's something they're considering. Kasper had 2 games centering Cat and Kane, vs the Isles and Boston. just before Kane's injury. the first one, vs the Isles, they were incredible as a line. Kane had literally the best playmaking total performance 5v5 i have seen from him since Chicago. and better than any he had his last year in Chicago. but he had 0 points that night bc Marco and Cat failed about 400 chances. but anyway they were great that night as a line, as far as being dangerous and controlling play.

I'm curious who amongst available FAs you think might have been willing to come play here in place of who SY was able to sign. I'm of the opinion that a lot of these signings were taking what he could get just to be able to ice a team and unfortunately some team unfriendly contracts had to be signed in order to do so. Seriously. Who else who was available was even remotely interested in signing here? (I'm leaving out last summer's signings - we know those didn't go the way SY expected and/or hoped and he scrambled to sign anyone at all.)

If anybody still has a V-8 engine , go out in the driveway and pull out four plugs, and go for a ride up the I-94 . That's what this version of the Wings are. They just dont have enough good players to fill out a competitive roster to compete at this point. Let's see how they perform against the Habs.

As soon as as Yzerman gets fired for putting this sh-t roster together I'll be back on board. Six years of the 15 year Yzerplan {How long does it take to clean up Holland's mess} is too long. Yzerman doesn't walk on water and people need to stop giving him a pass on everything because of his playing days here and his GM duties in TB. He's been a lousy GM here, rosters been a mess, draft pics take years to get here, penny pinching on the roster additions, slow walking every decision made. I'm sick of it all. Absolutely!! Yzerman’s “plan” is a joke, and Wing fans have to put away the Stevie Y fanboy goggles and start dishing some heat. A 7, 8, or 10 year rebuild is NOT A REBUILD !!! The net minding is sketchy, they have 2 legit D-men, and maybe 6 good liners. THAT’S IT !! By the time “the plan” comes together, what quality they have will start to age out . Tampa Bay was a lucky fluke, Yzerman was a helluva player, but he’s NOT a walk on water hockey god .

This roster just isn’t good. Only 9 players id keep at the moment. Can’t depend on a fringe starter like Lyon who I love and a 39 year old Talbot who is good too but we can’t depend on them. Without the powerplay this team has no offense. It’s sad

Kane Cat Copp is still creating grade A's every game, but they have stopped going in recently - bad finishing from both Cat and Kane 5v5. This line had been really the only exception at 5v5 since getting put together. When it stopped scoring, suddenly there was just nothing. Power plays and occasionally an odd chip in goal from the top line or 3 or 4. No sustained anything. Dylan Larkin has not had a 5v5 goal since November 25.

Detroit is not beating MTL tonight. MTL is aggressive, they play hard…. We have 1 line and the rest just seems to float or cannot execute. Habs win 4-1, 2 PP and are all ready 2-0 against Detroit. I have zero faith and Yzerman needs to make a move or they will just waste away a great season by Raymond.

"we have 1 line" Go look up the production by the 1st line and 2nd line the last 15-20 games. If the team has "1 line", it is the 2nd line. Lucas Raymond has 2 5v5 goals in the last like 20 games. Dylan Larkin has not had a 5v5 goal since November 25. Marco Kasper is Marco Kasper.
