Correct, there is no change in meaning. It's simply a way to make speaking more fluid/efficient.

In the case of many 3rd tones in a row, you are more likely to split them into logical word groupings, so for example, in 你想找好朋友 (nǐ xiǎng zhǎo hǎo péngyǒu), you might split it up like 2,3 / 2,3 rather than 2,2,2,3 (ni2 xiang3 zhao2 hao3 peng2 you3).

You got it! But, make sure 我 is a lower third done rather than a full third tone to make it sound more natural.
