CS has always had private servers with custom stuff. Surf, Deathrun, Prison Break, Zombie, Zombie Build, Warcraft and all kinds of goofy shit. But Valorant would never do that shit, giving players freedom is not what they want. Ah, the dedicated server era. Simpler times. If you want to be a hardcore gamer, you play on servers that are competitive, if you wanna just shoot the shit, you join a different server, you wanna zone out, you join surf and just surf and then shoot some guys, you wanna play with friends, unreal amount of gamemodes to play on servers you can regularly join, in which you can also make friends.

Actually, just having custom servers is great, TF2 may be absolutely rekt, but it still has those wacky gamemodes and all sorts of goofy shit even outside official Valve servers. Wario Ware, Pyro Volleyball, any Slenderman type shit, SAXTON HAALE, Deathrun, you name it, they have it. Community run servers with moderation that kicks cheaters (with the downside of the common powertrip those guys have). Pretty alright if you ask me. All Valorant has is Ranked, Ranked-lite, Ranked-lite-fast and warm-up for ranked.

i think that val suffers from the same thing that fort does, both val and fort started off as popular for all audiences but as they got older more and more children and overall childish people start going to them making the games by default become less attractive to a wider audience, sort of how the younger generation ruined jdm cars for most people, the more children like the game the less adults do, and valorant specifically suffers from a bad form of toxicity because of both how childish the game and therefore most people playing it are and also from the fact that since its so easy everyone thinks there the best player in the world and therefore complain and talk shit about everything, valorant isnt necessarily more toxic than games like cs but because of the childish nature of the people that are being toxic it has "worse" toxicity, what i mean is the toxicity in val is annoying and rude whereas in games like cs the toxicity tends to be more funny and lighthearted (even the racist toxicity is better than getting screamed at by a 12 year old because you got one tapped). both fort and val are ruined by the graphical style that made them popular.

I understand why people have problem with valorant. For me the problems are : - The community is cancerous and makes you feel like everything is offensive when you can clearly see that it's not a big deal most of the time - The devs are scared to balance the game (buffing things that are bad for example). Basically they killed Viper because of pro players when the reality is : 80% of the player base are casuals bruh 💀. You killed the fun for no reason - The devs wants to be friendly (and somewhat political as well) but they don't get that only fake people care about that. We are here to play a game not argue about a pronoun in a game (oddly enough Overwatch though it was a good idea to do the same thing) - We have a lot of people who created deama while playing Valorant, giving it a bad image in the process by the basis of Guilt by association - Valorant have the reputation of unhinged. The fact that the agents can swear and I can’t is bizarre. Like I don’t even care if someone swears at me and calls me useless in game at all. Like people are becoming way too sensitive on the internet nowadays and that’s what’s ruining valorant in my opinion. If I were to go in public and say I played Valorant that would be more embarrassing than if someone else said they played Genshin Impact
