On the 9th of March every single syriac Orthodox family bakes a bread for every family member. In one bread there is a coin and who gets the coin is the luck of the family for the whole year. After that we go to church and honor the 40 martyrs by bowing down 40 x 40 times for them. May God bless their souls.

Man, I want this movie so bad. I just found their story today because it is Lent, and these 40 soldiers are an example for us to follow during the 40 days. Not to brag but just to encourage others, I was just going to take a cold shower in penance for the sake of the cold people in Texas right now, but hearing their story inspired me to say "Screw that" and kick it up a notch. So I just drew a cold bath I'm about to get in. These 40 are a powerful example for keeping us straight and pushing us during Lent.

This is pretty neat. It's far from corny. I wish Hollywood would pay more attention to historical dramas, especially the forgotten stories of our Martyrs who shaped an epoch of grace at the time of tribulation and turmoil. If only they could make such films, solid story, historically accurate and honestly interpreted in alignment with the Church accounts. Would be such a tribute to those saintly men.

Yes, but I wouldn't trust Hollywood to do it. They have an agenda and it's not to elevate the Lord Yeshua or to hold in high esteem those who gave all for the King and the Gospel! Lord, please make a way for this film to be made, and use it to embolden Your sons and daughters to take a stand!

And there is so much more that could be done with the thundering legion .. my senior thesis was about this.. back in 2002 and I researched and spent my whole senior yr reaserching them and everything that happened at that time.. it was before the fall of Rome this happened, and it is great history that nothing should be left out. I made a whole timeline and everything. this would be a good movie if done properly.

If I recall Constantine removed Lycenious in Byzantium during the time of the 40 soldiers - this could be a great element within the story as a whole - Pureflix could be approached as well as Icon Entertainment
