Check out this new YETI cast iron skillet kit!! This thing is PRICY, but amazing. Yeti teamed up with Le Creuset to create this awesome product. Watch as Trevor breaks it in by cooking 3 ribeye steaks on this. These steaks are thick and he cooks them with rosemary, garlic, and butter. It was quite epic. We hope you enjoy the video please drop a like, leave a comment, and subscribe! More videos incoming!

That skillet looks like a butterpat cast skillet. Also a thicker cast skillet actually promotes more even heating, a thinner one is less even but it does heat up faster.

Looks like Butterpat makes it for yeti… going straight to the source it’s $55 cheaper, but unavailable. Field also makes skillets of the thinner and smoother variety for about $200 in this size. But all of the test sites find that a plain old Lodge will cook just as well. But doesn’t look nearly as nice doing it.

There is no question. It's a Butterpat design and they just made a mold w/o the Butterpat logo. It is a very nice skillet but there are a to of them out there for a lot less money.

I prefer a thicker skillet because my stove is gas and seems a little more forgiving as far as temp control cooking certain foods.

I'm using the cold pan method. It's so far pretty good. But I use a preseason carbon steel SolidTeknics pan that cost me less than $100. $400 is just ridiculous especially with no lid. Outrageous.

It works well but most cast iron skillets do. If it blows your kilt up, buy it, but if you are a Frugal McDougall, use a Lodge. BTW do these steaks taste like burnt butter? Why do KZbin Chefs all soak a good steak in scorched butter? Beef tastes pretty good on its own.

Probably better than my 12" Lodge, but the Lodge was one-tenth the price.

cast iron does not distribute even hear regardless of their thickness. If anything, the thicker, the better it hold the temperature which is the best feature of a cast iron. Why not go with carbon steel? It would do better job at heat distribution.

I get what you mean by the thickness. This one did feel higher quality and overall did a great job! We appreciate the comment! Thanks!

I’m willing to bet I can cook a steak just like that on my $1500 Kitchen Aid stove but it wouldn’t be nearly as fun as cooking it on that $8000 42” ILVE. Pans or stoves, in the end it’s all relative.

I would say, love the review, but ones has to read the article before conducting instruction. This is a butter pats hand made cast iron skillet with yetis name on it. Got to research before telling people about a product. Good lord…. 😂😂😂

Cast iron skillets work best when they are thicker iron. If you want to go thin, get a deBuyer carbon steel pan for 1/4 the price. Other than The Yeti name I can’t see this skillet having a niche, utter Pat makes one just like it, Stargazer strikes a better balance. Yes I have a collection of pans and have made notes.
