If you consider AMD reverse engineered Intel chips until 1995 then ya reckon they’d be even. They even used model numbers similar to Intel which forced Intel to change their branding. Basically AMD would take the Intel chip, reverse engineer it and increase the frequency boasting a faster cpu. You can’t con a con artist they say;)

I left that lunch presentation thinking Intel is acting like a brand-name, not a tech innovation company.

From what Intel has said about the reason why their CPUs have been cooking themselves quicker than normal with the 12th series onward being related to power management i would not want to play with it until an official EUFI update comes. Even then just for gaming performance doesn't sound worth it if it is most likely raising how much power the chip can request as that is how the chip cooked itself by requesting to much power to often.

What is the cheapest GPU that can do 1080p gaming at like 60fps? I'm coming off a laptop with a 10th gen i7 and integrated graphics, and I'm building my PC for data processing stuff. Potentially gaming as a fun side effect, and I figure I'll do an upgrade to a really good GPU down the line if I get more into gaming since I'd have the hardware to get more into it. Sorry if this is a stupid question, me and my techy family members are on the software side of things, so hardware is sorta a new frontier.

Depends what kind of gaming at 1080p, and how long you want to keep it. Generally i'd say get a 2nd hand rx6000 series, they're decently power efficient and a lot better at fps/dollar than anything else. Probably look around a 6700XT for 1080p

Where i think Qualcomm is aimming is the non-gamer home user who might be using it cloud based school, VPNing into work, browser gamers, and of course the windows office for ARM suit of productive programs. The consumers who get office 2021 for ARM will notice a decrease from their x86 computer using office 2021 as only ARM 32-bit is supported while x86 64-bit is supported. It will not matter until you have up 4 or 5 documents at once or a big spreadsheet or both as Microsoft Office for ARM isn't that optimized yet.

I went to the bestbuy site, narrowed down by laptops in stock that had 32GB of RAM, then sorted by screen size and selected what I thought would work best for me. AI never came into consideration.
