The 4th biggest mosque in Africa made me convert and change my name/ Gaddafi mosque left me speechless.
The Gaddafi mosque is now referred to as the Uganda National mosque was funded by The former leader of Libya and is currently the 4th biggest mosque in Africa.
In the days of Idd Amin Dada, he wanted to build the biggest mosque in Uganda but unfortunately for him he was overthrown shortly after. It remained unfinished for about two years so Gaddafi funded it when he came to visit Uganda before his passing.
While on top of this mosque one can see all the seven hills of Kampala that were very important in the days of colonialism and war. The building left me speechless because it's very big and beautiful.
This the place that Moslems conduct their prayers five times a day through out the year. It can hold about 15000 people and another 1,1000 on the outside.
