In my opinion Zak Brown is too concerned with entering McLaren into too many different racing series. Firstly they need to concentrate all their efforts into winning at F1.

Fingers crossed Aston can build on this hopefully accurate news and get some super podiums. And then go into 2024 as a real contender. Let the Alonso years come back!

My question is, why does everyone say Ferrari is not there but Apline is going to be fighting for best of the rest? I mean, how can one not performing to where we expect then completely ignore that for another.

On Wednesday we will have our Testing Performance Review with an ex-F1 Performance Engineer who has collated loads of data from the test to help us understand how things are looking heading into the race weekend. Hopefully he can explain that!

you need to look at body language as well. everyone at alpine was extremely happy with how the test went. they said they were holding back a lot with engine modes, and are expecting a massive update at the gp. so they probably spent time setting baselines, correlations, data for long runs etc.

Wonder if Piastri is going to regret his moves
@mrgalaxy396
@mrgalaxy396 Жыл бұрын
I mean what's there to regret? His academy's team didn't provide a seat for him for 2022 and didn't give him any assurances he would get a drive in 2023 either. That's too long for a rookie to sit on the sidelines, especially one that just won F2 and F3 as a rookie back to back. McLaren actually offered him a contract and he signed it, he couldn't just back out of it just because Alpine fumbled their negotiations with Alonso. At the time he made the best move for his career, you gotta get your foot in the door somewhere. Think he's just happy to be there and to finally be given a proper chance. Whether he'll have what it takes to stick around or end up like Vandoorne will be up to him. Funnily enough, I think this might just work out the best for everyone. Alonso seems happy with his new team, Alpine will have two French race winners and experienced drivers as teammates, that's gotta be good for their PR back home and making most of their car. Due to McLaren's incompetence to develop a car, Piastri will be under less pressure to perform, especially since Norris is rated highly. If he can get close to him by the end of the season and pick up some points, it'll be a good start for him.

I have Red Bull fastest, and Ferrari and Mercedes less than 2 tenths off the pace. Aston Martin within half a second, Alpine slightly slower, then everyone else bunched up. At least from what I could see in testing. The season is going to be dictated by who can get the updates on the car most effectively, making this a logistical racing championship as much as an on-track racing championship. Red Bull needs to start with the fastest car, because the restrictions placed on them means they won't likely be able to finish with the fastest car.

If any driver had fallen off a bike pre-season, they would have been fired. Lucky if your Dad owns the team. The risk for Aston is if stand-in does a couple of races and finishes close to Alonso, that'll put a lot of attention on Stroll to get close to the stand-ins time, but again, it will not matter
