Great stuff, I've been thinking of starting a JP Morgan position and averaging in for the rest of my life basically haha. It has been a perfect proxy for the S&P500 in last 5 years... In my country we can't I vest in the index properly so I am desperately looking for a proxy. Berkshire and JPM are the only two candidates I can see.

Geesh! I thought I got hit hard in 2022! That being said its all good because 2022 was my worst year as well and i lost a ton too and u r way more knowledgeable about companies then i am... Sometimes the market doesn't make much sense! Berkshire used to be my biggest position but no longer, its a great company but recently i sold a lot of shares to purchase into AMZN, GOOG & MSFT for great values (imho) in the recent correction. But you can definitely NOT GO WRONG with Berkshire esp as a Longterm holder!

4:56 Yes and no. Berkshire has the cash to make strategic investments, but at least some of that cash pile needs to stay in reserves due to the insurance business.
