Passing is awful in this game. You just have to abide by new rules that they set. Your basic ground pass, the bread and butter of real life football, got nerfed into oblivion. Now we have this cheesy lob through ball meta.

Guide for me: LB+Y+Y lobbed through pass magic through pass use instead of normal through pass RB+X driven cross need clear line very fast LB+X lobbed cross no need for clear line over player's heads A+A lofted pass use in box get over defender's legs RB+A driven pass faster than normal pass can one touch pass from this easily

Best FIFA in a while! Feels actually really rewarding to score. Sure keepers are good but those saves are real animations from keepers. Last year it was just dirty with those Directional Nutmegs, Bridges and Skill Cancels. Still gets PTST from those awful mechanics. Luckily Pro's can't spam those things anymore. It's actually a proper football game.

I love this fifa (on old gen). I never had such an easy time on the offensive. I love passing, I play off my footballing IQ. Nice that I don't have to nutmeg spam anymore or cancel skills all the time. It was effective but boring and not satisfying.

I have been practice all this for four matches. No matter what you do, EA pulls it’s bullshit and does stuff like have a striker plow through three of your defenders and blast a goal from 90’ away. Then, you can never get away from the 11th place team playing like ‘59 Brazil and magically pumping in 4 goals against your #1 ranked defense. The fix is always in.

No there is a huge one. Last fifa it was putting in mortal combat combos and now it's about having actual footballing IQ and not pulling your defenders out of position. I always play tiki taka football and this fifa it's truly viable again. You can create so many nice chances by knowing your players move and by knowing when to pass. Also have some creativity in your chance creation. It feels a lot more satisfying this year. I finally can stop spamming cancels, skill moves, nutmegs, la croquetas and so on..

@@matty6171 Not really. Back in Fifa 12/13 Skillers were seen as dudes that do cool skill compilations but aren't the most effective. Like Kazooie for example. Skill moves should be and (were) an ADDITION to the foundation of the game. A nice placed skill move can give you a chance out of nowhere but it should not be THE way to create something on offense. And it was like that in the past. After 17 it went downhill tho. So it's nice to see a fifa that goes back to it's roots more (football) and actually rewards having IRL footballing IQ.

Your team intercept absolutely nothing though right? That's me 9 out of every 10 games. My player can be in 20/30 yards of space, play a straight line pass and by the time the pass has actually been sent it gets intercepted by the opponents AI My AI actually move out the way of passes Yesterday one of players deliberately dummied a ball straight at him leaving my opponent clean through to score the winning goal in the 90th minute 🤣

1.27 he R1 cross and just completely bypasses his 2 players in the centre circle I can never get it to bypass anybody. Every time I try it it plays it to the nearest player If I attempted it on this situation it would just pass my to my player in the centre circle So annoying how one person can press R1 cross and the game smashes a 70 yard arrow to an unmarked player. Another person presses R1 Square and it just some stupid pass 10-20 yards away to a player marked my 3 players Like how many different way is there to hold R1 and press square 🙄

Your probably not holding square down long enough. I tend to only use square for cross field balls along my back line and lb triangle for diagonal balls out to my wingers getting in behind anyway rest of the time short passing on the deck. Anything that's risky and likely to give the ball away dont bother play to your strengths is my advise. 4 Defender's and 2 CDM's 1 CM will make it very difficult for people playing those balls against you as you can always double up and cut off their supply and isolate their winger.

Every single game I play my opponents are spamming the driven cross across the pitch with ease. R1 plus square and they just smash it 50 60 70 yards right on the players foot every time I try it and it hljust passes 10 yards to the player right in front of me or when it actually does attempt to play the long pass it just hits a player in the middle of the pitch So many times I R1 square and it just chips the ball to a player in the middle of the pitch

Life hack: Hold L2/LT+driven pass and any player regardless of pass stat will make a mistake-free guaranteed pass regardless if they’re semi off balance, sprinting, etc (sometimes with flair).
