You said the emperor had future sight enough to create the tech cults on Mars using the void dragon and treated his son's that didn't betray good, while that insinuated he mistreated his son's he knew would turn on him. How does he have the best power to see into the future out of anyone in real space but didn't see he would be worshipped as a god, creating his warp god version. And if the warp god's always existed, it makes sense that his warp god version helped him beat and trick chaos when he entered the portal on Baal, coming out with incredible power and knowledge to create his son's.

The only theory I have is that Huron and the Astral Claws were Loyalist Luna Wolves, not Ultramarine Successors, similar to the theory the Marines Malevolent and Minotaurs are Loyalist Iron Warriors. Either that or Horus snu-snu'd an Amazon from Futurama and Huron is a waaaaaay distant down the line descendant. Huron has ridiculously high charisma, something Horus was known for, to the point he created the second largest Chaos Empire in under 100 years compared to Abaddon taking... What was it, 1000? He's got the giant, iconic metal claw. Led the largest Astartes Civil War since the Heresy. Bald. Was dead/put near death and resurrected by all four Chaos Gods as a Lord of Undivided, like Horus. I have a theory that that the Chaos gods were originally benevolent or neutral gods, but when Slaanesh was born, it cranked certain aspects of them (pestilence, change, and blood) up to an 11 since Slaanesh is excess personified. This started turning the other three gods into perversions of themselves.
@TheCorrodedMan
@TheCorrodedMan Жыл бұрын
That’s not a theory, that’s established lore. The Warp was peaceful at one time, home to multiple benevolent gods. When the War in Heaven began, it started to turn into the madhouse we see today, with the main three gods of chaos being born during specific epochs in galactic history: Khorne when interstellar war began to become common, Nurgle when the Black Plague swept across Europe, and Tzeentch during the Renaissance. Slaanesh’s birth made it possible for them to physically impact Realspace, whereas before the Eldar and their gods would just swat them down whenever they got too uppity.

I think if GW is sticking with the emperor fighting Horus then my theory would be this: Emperor arrives to find Horus holding a dead Sanguinius and seemingly crying at what’s he’s done (don’t forget only fulgrim has killed one of his brothers). Big E approach’s Horus believing his favourite son has finally seen the error of his ways and regrets killing his brother, only for Horus to land a mortal wound when the big E is close enough. Horus reveals it was a ploy and seemingly has shed the last of his humanity (can also be seen that he actually was crying and this was the last of his humanity) Horus is now beginning to ascend to demon hood and this is when the big E with a mortal wound fights him. Big E is able to kill Horus before he can fully ascend, destroys his soul and then is taken back to terra by dorn. Feel this would help explain Big E’s reasoning for not just being ruthless and killing Horus from the start when he saw sanguinius dead
@aleanddragonITA
@aleanddragonITA Жыл бұрын
Yeah, makes more sense than Sanguinius killing Horus 1)It means that the Chaos Gods know about it, and I am sure Tezneech would know what would happen if voices of this where to leak, but NoOne in Universe talk about this Theory (more absurd Theories at least got mentioned inuniverse, like The Emperor being a Weapon of the Golden/Dark Age, but this?) 2)Why Horus's Souls was destroyed? in Canon Lore The Emperor was down and did the Soul Smashing Kamehameha out of necessity But why would The Emperor destroy the Soul of an already defeated Horus? MajorKill likes this theory simply because he doesn't think Horus is capable of defeating Sanguinius So another theory would be that Sanguinius was still fighting against Horus where the Emperor stopped him and started his fight against Horus Horus was able to trick The Emperor into lowering his Guard The Sacrifice thing happened but it Sanguinius that scraficated himself to save The Emperor from Horus' Chaos Kamehameha (but the Emperor still got wounded) And then the Chaos Gods revealed themselves from inside Horus revealing that Horus was no more (and even taunting Sanguinius' Sacrifice, because they thought the Emperor was done with his Wound) the Emperor became Super Saiyan and blasted the Super Kamehameha trying to kill the Chaos Gods (that where vulnerable because in a weaker body) but the Chaos Gods where able to escape (The Emperor also didn't care about Horus' Soul being destroyed because if something of it was left then the only salvation it could get was being erased) Maybe the Black Rage is the Emperor's Rage and the Vision the Blood Angels have is a Delusion the Emperor has about if he didn't interfer with Sanguinius & Horus Fight (maybe this is too much Emperor's Centric as a Theory) But most likely Horus killed Sanguinius and wounded the Emperor

One of my favourites is one of the Tyranids origin: they could be a C'tan from another galaxy :D Supporting this: 1) C'tans are reality-bound, manifestations of material laws. Which means, there are most likely Ctans everywhere there are stars to eat, and they may very well be "regional" incarnations, meaning there is a Nightbringer, a Void Dragon, in every galaxy. Why would they ALL be only in the milky way after all? 2) One of the C'tans in the Milky Way was called "The Endless Swarm" (citing the Necron Codex, 9th edition). No more info on him. But... yeah. Endless. Swarm. :DDD 3) C'tans in their primordial form (... gas-like "presence"?) can invade specific kinds of materials that are able to contain them. We only know of the Necrodermis, that is super-tailored and engineered for them, but they could very well be able to invade other type of materials that are adaptable and transformable. Like for example organic matter with mutable genetic material and nervous systems :p 4) Even after their incarnation, C'tans are mostly defined by: greed, gluttony, relentlessness, cruelty, unfathomable, madening, cosmic intelligence and knowledge. Just like the Hive Mind :p Considering all that, the theory goes as follow: - In another galaxy, another "Endless Swarm" C'tan came across a breed of super-adaptable creatures, and managed to "fuse" with them. Alternatively, a Necrontyr-equivalent race found the Ctans as well, and created an organic envelop for them, instead of an inorganic one. - Because of his nature, the Endless Swarm became the most powerful when using an organic vessel, and dominated the galaxy by creating the first "drafts" of Tyranids, becoming the Hive Mind. Though having no presence in the warp at first, the sheer number of "soulless" but still living, sentient creatures he was controlling had the effect of creating this Shadow in the Warp. In this theory, the Shadow is actually just the presence in the Warp of a Ctan that gained sentience through organic vessels, rather than inorganic ones, and was thus able to "reach" and influence the Warp. The shadow would be the presence in the Warp of a C'tan, who are, as we know, not linked to the warp, but through the weak unrefined souls of countless semi-sentient organic vessels would gain a massive "shadowy" presence. - The Endless Swarm continued to replicate endlessly, devouring everything out of greed and gluttony. Eventually, his numbers became so vast that his own mind split into different individual Hive Minds, and they went on their own ways to keep devouring. Some left the galaxy to find other sources of food, the competition becoming too great, or the ressources too scarce. - The different Hive Minds slowly approached the Milky Way. The Silent King was around, and encountered them. He recognized the behaviour of the Endless Swarm, that was vanquished during the War in Heavens, and realized a new incarnation of this C'tan was headed towards the Galaxy. That's why he freaked out. He knows what the Tyranids are. He knows that the only thing that can and WILL completely annihilate everything and everyone, just for the sake of it, are C'tans. C'tans are the ultimate ennemies of everything, and the most evil, destructive forces in the universe that we know of. Szarekh did not really get involved with Chaos that much, he didnt see it as a real threat to his plans, but rather a temporary, self-destructive phenomenon. I don't see anything else that could make him want to ally with other races than the arrival of a new, fully capable, apocalyptic incarnation of a C'tan.

I recently thought of that when people say clearly the Emperor meant to kill the Primarchs and Astartes, because they were never supposed to rule and Mankind was supposed to rule themselves. I always interpreted that as the Primarchs would help guide humanity and be the first line of defense or coordinate most of the defenses so humanity could live in relative peace and not have entire worlds being drafted constantly, and they could focus on progress and living in a time of peace not seen in ages. And even if the Primarchs or Emperor had to step in it'd be to make sure things are running smoothly and ensure everything was well.

I absolutely think GW are going to make Sanguinius winning against Horus canon. When reading Echoes of Eternity, when Angron wounds Sanguinius, at first it reads as if the wound is festering away and sapping his strength, but reading again I think it's implying a wound to Sanguinius's soul, an infection of Khorns rage, that is the true source of the Black Rage, not from Sanguinius himself.

It would be the worst decision they have made and would finalize their ruining of Horus's character. Thus far Horus Heresy novels have been just taking a huge shit on emperor and Horus. @_NutcasE_ it would make Horus seem weaker. But Horus already is kinda weak, he's been written in such a way that it beggers belief that horus could wound the Emporer, and the Emporers been written in such a way that he simply wouldn't hesitate to end his own son. I feel like that can just be made canon because it makes sense, but while still adding in a few campaigns, attacks or battles where Horus, against all odds absolutely mangles opposing armies or primarchs. Like the Istvann massacre only maybe add in some daemons and shit to add to his slowing receding humanity. Ollanius' sacrifice could very easily be re-written into the lore if the Sanguinius theory proves true. It could bvery similar as what happened with Horus in the old lore - Emps defends himself but is hesitant to kill the Angel and gets a mortal wound, Ol jumps in between them to plea with the latter (some awesome "remember your noble deeds, Angel, remember what you are! a shining beacon of everything that is best in Humanity! REMEMBER!" speech could be written here), the Angel tries to calm down but fails and kills Ol and Big E sees that he has no choice but to kill the Angel as he's too far gone. He kills the Angel (just kills, not destroys his soul), obliterates Horus' body and soul like in the current lore which leaves him both morally wounded and psychically exhausted and that's when Dorn finds him.

The theory the emperor planned on killing off the legions and primarchs sucks so fucking much. It’s probably one of the most grimderp theories out there. It doesn’t tie up any loose ends, all it serves to do is to give the emperor an evil motive because a god like figure just doing his best isn’t grimdark enough for some fans. Also, each primarch very clearly had some kind of role to take up, planned or not. Primarchs like Leman, The Khan, Corvus, and Vulkan would likely become wardens of the imperium and protect certain sectors and maintain peace. Primarchs like Guilleman, Rogal, Horus, perturabo, and the lion would likely help administrate the imperium as a whole, be it military or logistics to maintain trade. Magnus would likely help Big E with the webway, while the others I didn’t mention would likely either just run their own planets or help out in their own way. You don’t put as much time, resources and responsibility on 18 demigods just to cull them after. Hell, I’m not even convinced both lost primarchs are dead.

My head cannon. Sanguinius is fighting Horus when Big E shows up. Horus wounds Sanguinius with a warp tainted weapon and Khorne is the reason the Black Rage takes over. Sanguinius has the upper hand and deals a mortal wound to Horus when Big E rolls in. The chaos gods then abandon Horus and Horus realizes he was wrong to go against his father. 2v1 against Sanguinius and he essentially goes full blown Khorne bezerker primarch mode and holds his own for a short time since the Emperor cannot bring himself to kill his own son. Sanguinius then mortally wounds the Emperor and that’s when Ollanius sees the ‘angel’ has fallen and tries to intervene between him and the Emperor with his speech. Sanguinius kills Ollanius which causes a temporary undoing of the Black Rage due to the ‘good’ half within him and Sanguinius tells the Emporer he has to kill him. Black Rage takes back over the Emperor stops holding back. He then strikes down Sanguinius with tears in his eyes and Horus falls to one knee but barely alive. Horus’s last words plead to the Big E that he must protect the imperium and eradicate his soul. Dorn busts in and sees Sanguinius dead and the Emperor holding his favorite son in his arms. Dorn simply nods at the Emperor and the Emperor uses the last of his power to eradicate Horus. The Emperor screams as he’s holding Horus then Horus is gone. The pain of killing both sons is what triggers the Black Rage within the Blood Angels. Only the Emporer and Dorn know what truly happened.

Well the last theory is pretty good I would be genuinely sad if it happend because I like the fact that ollonious pius jumps in front of the emporor to stop horus since it was just a normal man doing a amazing thing also I kind of like the idea that big e still loved horus just enough to not kill him
@KryptonianBaby
@KryptonianBaby Жыл бұрын
Tbh the Ollanius pius being a normal person who stepped in sounds like propaganda boosting the idea that every single guardsman is necessary and important to the war effort and should be willing to sacrifice themselves because it may mean the difference between victory and annihilation for humanity, the Emperor representing humanity of course. In this universe, the idea that the imperium would totally fudge a story like this or at least massively change the details is almost a certain one.

You gotta think in most cases famous leaders and celebrities are narcissistic, there is no way realistically that the Emperor isn’t narcissistic and cutthroat, whilst yeah his deeds saved humanity it also meant being one of the most powerful people in the galaxy. He’s also gassed up by his followers even his sons who are surprised what he’s actually like in person, he’s manipulative but he has to be just like all great leaders you can’t be a “good” person.
@Nukefandango

Nah man, he's way more interesting as a tragic figure: a dude who started off with undeniably good intentions, only to become the very evil god he tried to protect humanity from. It's worth noting that the worst aspects of him as a father are explained by the power he took at Molech. Valdor and Malcador reflect on how he's losing his humanity at the end Valdor's book. The Emperor stole power to create the Primarchs, perhaps not fully understanding the cost to his soul. Erda describes him as a genuinely funny dude, as witty as he was charismatic, proud and egotistical but not a complete tyrant, which is very much at odds with the guy we see punish Lorgar and abandon Angron's friends. The inconsistent behavior toward the Primarchs is best explained by the slow loss of his humanity after taking power at Molech. Hell, we see the same thing happen with Horus, to an extent, just faster and more acute because Horus isn't already a god tier psyker perpetual. Erda says that Neoth's greatest flaw was just not listening to his peers. He never wanted what the Imperium has become...but now, after ten thousand years on the Throne, after billions of souls being sacrificed to keep him alive (and therefore the astronomicon), we have to wonder what if anything is left of the man who grew up in Anatolia a few hundred thousand years ago.

@@grimnir8872 I genuinely don't think making the Emperor, a human, have human impulses and flaws, is "tarnishing" anything. I think a combination of the Sanguinius theory could work, something along the lines of Sang kicking Horus's ass so hard it seems like he dies, then emps shows up puts the mad Sanguinius down and it's revealed that Sang beat the chaos powers out of Horus but Horus is no longer a meat suit but still regrets nothing and that's what makes the emperor wreck his shit. This way we get the Horus meatpuppet story, Real Horus Vs The Emp, Complete Sang's Fate story of his rise and fall and it makes Sang the soldier that horus "kills" and causes Emps to destroy him, it also plays on the idea that as Horus dies the chaos powers leave him and he regrets it by changing it that he doesn't regret it, so horus is still accountable and that the powers leaving him was earlier. It would be a cop out to say that Horus wasn't at fault or was just turned evil completely, the chaos powers just unleashed something fucked that was always there and exploited it to create a avatar to fight emps with. I think the only major problem with this theory is that i don't think normal Horus could beat emps to the point he has to go full golden throne but i'm sure Dan abnett could think of something. I think it's more interesting when multiple fan theories are correct then just one or changing the story because the audience predicted it.

I dislike the Sanguinius killing Horus theory, so many people just want it so they get a twist ending. The current lore still makes complete sense, more sense than the theory, and the themes are still extremely relevant. Horus (representing the slow and inevitable corruption of humanity (like how the Imperium is now)) kills Sanguinius (representing the potential of what humanity could become under the Emperor) the blood angles loose their minds (representing humanity slowly becoming a rage filled shadow of its former self (like the Imperium is now)) the Emperor finds them and Hesitates (he's seeing all his work and preparation be destroyed and sees the future of humanity in Horus) and gets wounded but through sheer will fights back and destroys Horus completely (representing humanities indomitable will fighting against inevitability). A good solid story that sets the foundation of modern 40k that I'm sure GW's will completely fumble in the new books as is standard.

Back around the turn of 3rd/4th edition 40K, in about 2003/2004, a lot of GW store staff and local lore nerds would talk up Sanguinius' sacrifice and claim that he did indeed literally open a chink in Horus' armor. I was far too young and impressionable at the time to do anything other than eat it up but thought I remember this being mentioned in the 3rd or 4th edition rulebook if my memory serves me correctly. This could not exist at all, as my friends owned the actual rulebooks (stuff was/is expensive for teenagers) and I only owned my relevant codices. God, did we spend hours gawking at the images in those books...
