Transformers The Last Knight was a flop in the US with the US Box Office numbers at 147 which means it was a flop in the US, however it was hit worldwide

That other list was about the amount of money the movie lost and not US specific so this doesn’t explain it

Thank you for clarifying. You mentioned the list was about flops, not about films losing the studio money, that's slightly different. A film can be a big box office hit (and not a flop) but still lose lots of money. Cleopatra in 1963, notoriously lost lots of money and is considered a flop however it was the biggest box office hit in 1963. It made 57 mil worldwide, but cost 44 mil to make, which means it lost alot of money. Transformers Last Knight cost around 217 mil to make (not including marketing!) and only made 605 mil, this is seen as losing money as a film is supposed to make about three times it's budget in order to make money. A bit of an indepth answer but I hope that it does answers your question, but please let me know.
