@@ethanm9191 I said in an earlier comment that the T2 has a decent enough treble boost and a nice upper mids boost, and the Pro just is way too bright. Not to go so hard on Steve, but he is older, and being less sensitive to high frequencies would explain alot about his enjoyment. To me, however, with supposedly above average hearing, it was intensely fatiguing. And it costs more than the regular T2 on top of that. I'm in the camp that Tin got lucky with the T2 because a signature like it has at $25ish on top of having detachable cables, makes it a strong contender, but have seemed to missed the mark besides that one success.
@maxcostco5 жыл бұрын
This comment will probably be buried, but as someone with experience with both the T2 Pro and the original T2, I have never heard of such a dichotomy between two similar models. Basically, the T2 offers a sort of neutral-bright sound with an upper midrange boost, and I love it. On the other hand, the T2 Pro bumps that treble up to unholy levels and it's just a sibilant and fatiguing mess. My opinion is as good as Steve's, but I just want to warn any viewers that as someone who preordered the T2 Pro on release, the original T2 is not only a better deal at $35, sometimes $25 on sale, but it just offers a much more agreeable sound.

I own the entire tin hifi lineup (t2, t2 pro, t3 & p1) and I love them all. Incredible bang for buck company and products. I own dozens and dozens and dozens of IEM's ranging from $200-$1500 and their T series IEM's id say easily out performs a solid 80% of them. It's amazing what they were able to do for $50 price range. PS. Steve you should really look into the Yinyoo V2's. They have an identical build to the tin t2's but have a beautiful musical listen to them and do everything very well. I actually prefer the sound of them over the T series on occasions and they only cost $50 as well. A lot of people don't know about them and I think it would be great if you could show them some love and let the people know about them. Another incredible bargain bang for buck set

I wanted my first pair just to try with my RME ADI2 DAC. Got the T2 for $49, great deal, sound fantastic through the IEM jack, I swear I can feel the bass in my spine. But my ears just aren't built for in ear. If I don't move a muscle they'll stay in my ear, sorta. My buddy doesn't like them because of the isolation, says he's constantly removing one to hear what he's missing, while I like the isolation and constantly get distracted by sounds (real or imagined) wearing open back headphones. As always YMMV, glad I didn't spend a bundle on them. I convinced a different friend to get the T2 from Massdrop for $32, he had me order them for him. He calls me not 15 minutes after picking them up and says he broke the cable. I don't know how they solder those things, it went up in smoke when I went near it with a hot iron. So much for a good deal. Since he tasked me with getting him a replacement, I naturally took the opportunity to sell him my cable and buy an upgrade.

I just got my T2 Pros today from Amazon.....using them w/my iPhone SE. The brightness surprised me, but I changed out the blue foam ear tips for the smallest silicone ear tips. I can now get them farther into the ear canal, thus increasing the bass and balancing out the high end. Amazingly transparent sound in such small package. Recommended for the $$$...
@crys_o4 жыл бұрын
I recently bought the Tin T2 Pros based on Steve's recommendation. Mids are great, bass is tight and responsive but really lacking punchy sub-bass. They are very revealing although extremely sibilant. I have moderate hearing loss in both ears and the treble is too harsh for me, I can't imagine how bad they must be for people with normal hearing ranges. My recommendation would be to not get the Pros, save some money and stick with the standard T2s then upgrade to the Pros if you're craving extra bright highs. For those who already have the Pros, one great tip I can give you to dramatically improve the bass, give you a fuller sound and reduce the harshness of the treble a bit is to use the blue foam tips and push them into your ears deep enough to create a perfect seal. I just wish TIN would have provided a couple different sized foam tips because they seem to be much better suited acoustically for the audio profile of the Pros.
@chrissimmonds43835 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, saw your video on the T2 pro and bought the upgraded T3. Wasn't worried that they would be too bright as I use KEF LS50 in my system which a lot of people say are too bright but I'm ok with them. Just received them and trying them now. They are certainly bright but astonishingly detailed. The nice thing is that i can listen at low volume and still hear everything so clearly. Got them fed with an Oppo HA-2 headphone amp and they sound incredible. My other phones are Sennheisser HD650 over ear which sound very laid back in comparison. Astonishing detail, beautifully built with the OFC Silver Plated Detachable MMCX cable. What value! Thanks for the review.

@gullibleskeptic32374 жыл бұрын
For me the p1 sounds way better with the foam tips. They are just too hot in the treble with silicones. I use comply t500 and they sound very nice. The bass is just the right amount and the mids sound better because its more in line with the treble.

I tried these T2 Pro, and their higher end T3 Pro, and you are right- these lower end ($60 instead of $70) T2 Pro’s are my favorites under other than some custom IEM I have for the studio, which cost 30X more than these, but are not necessarily even twice as good, let alone 30X.

These are simply the best sounding IEM's I've ever owned, and by a country mile. I mostly listen to EDM and the sound is so open and clear which has allowed me to hear details that I couldn't previously hear and the bass is tight, controlled with plenty of it for my ears. A good album to test these with is Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds- epic! I have to differ with Steve on one point though, the blue tips that come as standard do a great job with noise isolation- I commute daily by train and with them in I really struggle to hear announcements over the train's PA. I cant recommend them highly enough. Just buy a pair and hear for yourself.

I enjoy my Tin T2. Have been thinking of stepping up to a complimentary set in the $200ish (preferably under) range. The two final candidates that come up for me are the Tin P1 and the Ikko OH10. It is interesting to hear Steven's observation that the P1 do detail but are kind of one-note. I'm getting that vibe even from more positive reviews, that they have an engaging, powerful sound signature (not bass heavy but perhaps intimate the way Sennheiser HD650 are, for example), but are perhaps not the most dextrous (not sure what I mean by that..hehe). Anyway, I'm probably leaning toward the OH10 because they are probably more different from the T2 than the P1 are, have stronger bass (I'm not a bass head per se but to differentiate from T2), and their build quality is apparently great. Also, I tend to like to have items from different companies for a more differentiated experience. Though I think I have bought 4 Koss pairs in the past six months. But of course, at under $40 for everything except for the ESP 95x, Koss makes it easy. Anyway, is this a comment or a long rambling call for help to other commenters... haha. Nice review/talk as usual Steven. Keep up the good work.

The bass is fine if you have the right tips. The issue for me is they require a lot of power to sing. I have mine with the Klipsch headphone amp on high gain and they need to volume at 12 o'clock for the most part. For portable listening you need a portable amp.

I love Steve's videos and most of the time agree with everything he says including in this video. But I would like to add something being an owner of both t2 and p1. When he says that the highs are emphasized on t2 keep in mind that he is an older gentleman and even he finds them bright. If you are younger in your 30s or below with hearing that is still really good you will find these earbuds painful to listen to. And idk why everyone complains about p1 but I find that they actually have much better bass then t2 and are much more balanced sound. I get a ton more detail from them compared to t2 and i don't feel like I am being stabbed in the ear. Oh and the t2 don't fit my ear comfortably. P1 fit like a glove.

I found the sound pretty good but the build quality of the cable and connections were poor. Broke down after a month. Also tried with different cables. And the customer support from ali express is what you'd expect. Cheap and a bit of a gamble I think.

Cables are shit but you can get other cables compatible for like $15 cause the connector is really good on the buds

If the treble is bothering you I'd imagine that's pretty easy to fix with an eq app
@luminousfractal4205 жыл бұрын
youd need a good 10-20 band eq. the treble spikes are in a tiny frequency range usually. porable media players usually have 5 bands

Fam... Earth Wind and Fire. Easy Lover song with Phil Collins, 6 or 7 grammys plus all of that other award stuff. Philip Bailey is the greatest vocalist percussionist that I know. Crazy talent. Glad you're letting people know about him. ✊🏾✌🏾

By all accounts the T2 Pro was a step back from the original T2. They really turborcharged the highs on them further and that wasn't something the T2 needed. The T3 is an entirely different headphone but not bad either. Either way I'm sticking with my Advanced Model 3's, $40 and a really great sound from the single DD. Plenty of nice punchy bass, pleasant mids, clear highs, good stuff even if you ignore how affordable they are.

Thanks for the Review! You should try the BLON BL-03, they cost about 25 - 35$ and sounds more than great! ^^

When talking about a reduction in a video, it’s nice to have it in the shot for us to look at the entire time.

I got one of these and tried it out. I found that they were incredibly harsh and bright in higher ends.
