Finally, a good snare stand comparison on YT. Your videos about cymbal bags and hi-hat stands are awesome too. If there is a chance, I would like to see a video comparing drum thrones.

Thanks so much! Drum thrones coming soon 👀🥁

Ludwig's atlas stands are solid as well and i gotta say even mapex 800series snare stand is a solid contender as well

Rocking a DW9000 myself, love it. Everything I want it to be. Got it used in perfect condition for like $150.

I have the DW9000 and it has been flawless, but all the manufacturers make excellent products on their top end hardware

Thanks mate! I have the Tama HS800W waiting in my basket, but now i'm reconsidering the Gibraltar.
@GideonWaxmanАй бұрын
Tama HS800W is another good option but the Gibraltar edges it with its features IMO!

I have a Tama RoadPro stand with a uni-ball adjustment under the basket. Other than that it's the same as the one you demo'd. But for me the uni-ball is such a great feature. You can really angle your snare in any minute way to exactly where you want it depending on your setup. No gears to have to click into limiting what angles you can use! After playing for 28 years that became annoying for me.. haha! But I agree with you that Tama and DW hardware is always well designed and super durable. There is a reason why they are the industry standard.
@TheKranogАй бұрын
I love Pearl hardware but where they always falls short, is the annoyingly brittle plastic bushings. Seriously, be sure to buy plenty of them when ordering Pearl hardware as they will break often enough and when they do, you can no longer use the height adjustment without memory locks. For this reason, the Tama edges it for me. Fantastic video. I look forward to more! :)

Thanks for the kind words! Appreciate the insights too man. I've not had issues in the past myself with those however!

Great video, Gideon Waxman. Looking forward to your next upload! I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the fantastic work! The comparison between the DW 9000 Series and the JBala 9706 was particularly insightful. How do you think the innovation in snare stand design will influence drummers' playing techniques in the future?

Great video! What stands can handle a 13’ or 12’ snare or tom?
@ldcsam1Ай бұрын
Not shown in the video, but the Pearl S1030 and the S1030L both are adjustable and will accommodate snare drums 10" to 16". Toms, too I guess.
@GideonWaxmanАй бұрын
Several of these fit 12 inch drums including the Pearl S930 and Tama HS80W! The Gibraltar will fit 13 inch snares.
@krusher74Ай бұрын
the ludwig atlas is great for small snares.
@christiansmyth1466Ай бұрын
Nice roundup video, thanks! However, IMO you should have called out which adjustments are finite or "ratcheting", and which ones are infinite or "smooth".
@GideonWaxmanАй бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I can tell you that the infinitely adjustable baskets were the two DW stands, Gibraltar and the Pearl!

After using a Yamaha Crosstown SS3, I won’t go back to any of these heavy snare stands. I’ve owned or used pretty well all the makes either on my own kit or backline kits and the SS3 holds up fine whilst being super lightweight for my traps case. I’ve used it mainly with my 6 x 14 Supraphonic, hitting it like it owes me money, and it is rock solid. It also doesn’t have an annoying geared tilter setting, so you can set the angle exactly where you want it.

How on earth could you do a review of the best snare stand’s without the Yamaha SS950. I’ve been playing drums for over 65 years and nothing else compares! Sorry 🚮🗑️
@GideonWaxmanАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I included options at various price points in this video, and while the SS950 is excellent, I felt the DW stands edged it out with features like the Air Lift and offset basket adjustments.
