The real deal ww 2 ak was not super high quality or accuracy.. just a ton of machining and very inefficient methods. Not sure why you would be a snob for something designed to be reliable but low accuracy.. the beauty was they ran when filty in war time conditions with poor quality ammo . Low tech was great in battle, but i dont understand the snob appeal ?? Or are you meaning russian built stuff ??
@XtremeConditions5 жыл бұрын
@@cayman9873 I mostly agree. But I'd make a lot of the same argument against things like Sig 516's for example. They're just not 5x the gun compared to a $400+ AR-15. They're great for sure, but not 5x as great. But I guess some people just want to feel they've found the best in class, and I get the appeal to an extent. For me, if I had the money, I'd still never buy a $3,000 1911 for example. My biggest concern with any gun has always been: "Is it built well enough that it lasts? And is it reliable? And ultimately, what kind of value does it present for the money?" And after asking those questions, a $600 AK is MORE than enough in my book. It ain't going to get THAT much better, whether you spent an extra $200, or an extra $2000.

lol No doubt. Years ago I bought a brand new milled Norinco PolyTech for about 1/2 of what a Colt AR cost and I thought I was paying to much. I also picked up a Norinco Mac 10 for $300 and change. I recall, we worked the last 2 days at my friend's mother's food booth at the state fair and packed up at the end. She gave us $400 each. I got that Mac 10, 1,000 rounds of ammo, 10 magazines and was out the door, including tax and had a few bucks left over. lol I fired 20 rounds and put it away. I now have a very lightly used Mac 10, 980 rounds of Wolf ammo and 9 unused magazines. I got both of those AKs and a Colt H Bar right around the same time. I am a thin woman and really preferred the lower felt recoil of the AR so that got shot far more regularly. Then I bought a really bad Bushmaster. It had a bunch of issues but my uncle spent a weekend with me showing me how to do everything on an AR. I was a little irritated with having to rebuild a brand new AR but hey, it was a cheap AR, only 2x as much as that MAC.lol Anyways, After I learned how to build an AR I was totally sold on them. Now I have a safe full of AR's. Had I known how much those AK's were going to be worth, I would have bought more. Help fund a C8 maybe. :)

Bought a Riley Defense rifle from Atlantic Firearms as soon as they started putting in forged barrel trunnions. So far I've went through two cases of Wolf, and I've probably got like 700-800 rounds left in my 3rd case, so I'm around 2,200 or so rounds. No breakages, won't close on a No-Go gauge, still going strong. I didn't beat the gun to death, mind you, that round count is over quite a few trips to the range, I didn't get the gun piping hot or anything. I love it, especially for the price. My buddy has a WASR and wants to get rid of it and get a Riley gun, primarily for the aesthetics(I paid extra for the nice red wood stocks Atlantic was offering) but they really shoot about the same.

Hopefully their QC has improved. I’ve built more than a few and bought several AKs over the years and my close friend bought a Riley Defense AK approximately two years ago and has had nothing but problems. I checked the headspace with gauges and it was good, wouldn’t close on a No-Go gauge. But the rifle wouldn’t accept numerous steel milsurp mags from Yugoslavia/Serbia, China, and it took most of the Romanian stuff and and a handful of other mags that wouldn’t seat, they were interfering with a center support rivet. When other mags seated I found that the rifle would jam at least once per mag and I tried diagnosing the issue, it was having a feeding issue and the gas seemed fine and the rivets looked good but failures to feed or double feeds like crazy despite using mags that functioned fine in all of my other 7.62 AKs. In all fairness to the company my buddy is a procrastinator and still hasn’t sent it in yet to have them take care of it, but I know he isn’t alone as several other channels on KZbin have reposted similar reliability issues around the same time. So there is a very good chance it could have been a period of poor QC that may have improved since then. I would love to see some solid AKs on the US market for reasonable prices that are reliable so time will tell I guess. I’m trying to remain hopeful since I’m a big fan of the AK platform.

I have the Rak47-p, 2nd gen... with approximately 1,200 rounds through it and only 1 malfunction. Had 1 warranty claim, bullet feed ramp rivet came loose....they replaced the ramp and said when lasered it showed straight( i presume bore sighted) but shot off target... they replaced my front trunnion and barrel, which I'm not sure why because they were fine when i shipped out. Rifle comes back with canted sights and excess salts from whatever process and grime inside trigger group.... after some adjustments and cleaning ,rifles zeroed again, with zero malfunctions .

I would like to see your take on the M & M M10X. It's an AK/Sig/AR hybrid. Looks pretty cool. You know you want to do it.

A friend of mine found a Poly Tech Legend on a used gun rack for $425. It didn’t look like it had been fired more than one mag’s worth. Came with all the stuff, but no box. Talk about lucky

Glad nutn addressed the negative reviews off the rip. My 2nd gen has had issues with the piston hanging up tho. Havnt spent enough time with it either tbh

Lantac makes a good set up for muzzle break and blast mitigation device. It’s not super cheap, but it’s one of the flattest shooting muzzle break/comp. I Use it on AK and AR platforms.

Why am I watching a video on a gun I will never buy? For some reason, I still find almost all Nutnfancy's videos entertaining I guess. I blame the Gundam figures. 00 Gundam is my favorite series thus far.

Apparently the AK-47 is considered a multitool by The Nutnfancy Project. This video is in the multitool playlist! :)

I love mine, the Red Wood is beautiful. Another great review. Does anyone know if AKs have any problem with following steel then brass then steel, etc.?

I just can't justify an AK for a long list of reasons. Weight, configuration, and expensive. Now the AR is BY FAR the go to weapon on all levels.

Since I can't get those nice stamped AK rifles for cheap anymore I just spent the money and I now build them straight.

The wasr 10 will run circles around that riley as well as the crappy replacement they send you after it fails. Just sayin.....
