:) Every time Dave says how easy it is to put together, how sturdy, how well thought out it is, and where everything is marked, it is like he is silently screaming at another antenna he reviewed a while back. :) This antenna looks very well made thougth. Nice

After assembling my AV 680 which had thousands of parts LOL. It is very nice to se an antenna that is well thought out and easy to assemble. Looking forward to seeing it put together and up. 73 KE0KRO Jeff Wittern.

Thanks for posting this, I ordered a hustler 5btv from dxengineering in November, still on back order, thinking about cancelling the order and buying something else. I was looking at the zero five 33 foot multiband 10-80 meters. I need something that can handle high winds. I get 60mph winds often. I am interested to see how well this spider antenna works.

@davidbrennan5 Wow, I'm somewhat surprised the 5BTV has been on backorder that long. I've had one since June 2021 and am very happy with it. I also have a ZeroFive 27' vertical that I use on the WARC bands and it is also an excellent performer. Both antennas need ground radials to perform at their best, the more, the better. I have three guy ropes on my 5BTV and it doesn't move at all on windy days. The ZeroFive moves in gusty winds and if it were any taller I would put guy ropes on it. This Spider antenna that Dave is about to install looks like it will definitely need guy ropes. I'll be interested to see how it performs. 73 de WB4DW

An antenna like this would be nice. I have been waiting almost 2 years just to have a simple dipole put up by some local hams it has not happend yet. I am legally blind or I would do it myself. Nice video Dave, Thanks for sharing! KE8NVA

$490 and no manual? Not even a 1-page tuning procedure and specifications. Ridiculous. Was there a disclosure statement in the video if it was purchased at full price or free in exchange for a review? A lot of complements for an antenna that hasn't been deployed nor had an analyzer connected to it.

This antenna looks too easy to be in Ham Radio..........I would go as far to say its bad for your health, due to lack of exercise from walking up/down the garden and lowering/raising a mast ten times for each band. Not to mention failing to gain knowledge on antenna theory. I,ll stick to what this hobby was founded on.......DIY.

Don’t much like the way you just drop stuff down. It would want to be sturdy the way you treat it.👎

@@radioflyer9959 Well, I know I wouldn’t treat it like he did. I’m also sure that if Dave was younger, he would have laid it down. He did seem to be making a job of it, getting it out of the box! Also, there is a bit of a difference between shock treatment and wind load don’t you think? Dave has made many a fine video and has been a great servant to radio hams but, like all of us, can’t go on forever.

Unboxing is never very interesting. Does KZbin require you to meet a quota of videos each month ? We need more quality videos on ham radio issues not just unboxings.
