Another good way to get inspiration: If everything else fails just do ANYTHING. Just start something. Often you will become Ideas what you could add to it and where to use it. Actually, my first 16minute 3D Blender Movie(which is on my channel) started like that. I had no idea, so i randomly made a skijumping Pixar lamp and tadaa! A whole 16 minute long movie after a few months.

SMART goal planning, mate! >Singular goal. "I can make the general shape of a Battleship." >Measurable outcome. "I will know I am done when it looks like a Battleship." >Achievable outcome. "I know what I want the Battleship to look like, and my skills are up to the task." >Realistic outcome. "OK, not every rivet and weld-line, but most people would recognize it as a Battleship." >Timely outcome. "I can have it done in three days." This is not just the work-flow in a Studio, any endeavor can be broken down in this way. Will SMART make you a better artist? No. But it will help to prevent feeling 'stuck' in a project.

I am in the process of making a movie in Blender. The movie is of a kid in India listening to his favorite old songs from the 1960s now and his classmates making fun of him. When he and his family travel to Romania too visit his uncle, the kid's cousins have the same interests. So making a movie might be another idea.

Learn different software. Zbrush/Sculpting. Maya/Rendering, Animation, UV unwrapping, Lighting, Rigging, Compositing. Substance/Textures, PBR workflows. Basically learn workflows of other software and then you will learn better ways to use blender. Life and learning is a constant flow like a river that never stops.

Dat first video frame :D, great for an forum avatar. I really need inspiration to start anything, work is when the first impulse is gone and I still have to finish..... #1 - I learned this the hard way, or, after several years of procrastination(s). The best way is to approach like I'm trying to make it look amateur on purpuse, then my creative side of the brain unlocks. #2 - Wow, nice idea, gotta try it someday. Better than some random checklisting, and images better than just words for inspiration. #3 - Oh yeah, is taking a long time but I'm finally able to finish some tutorials before looking after the next one. 'Cause I like them ALL!!!! "Oh the possibilites...." #4 - Hmm, don't do this with this purpose, but it worked enough on this sense already, that was probably why I started doing Blender on first place - to do the things I imagined. #5 - That's kinda hard for me, but listening to your podcasts really helps, I'll get to that later. #6 - Oh yes, my best way to digest my thoughs are the relaxing hot shower. And waiting my dog to poop when outside. :P #7 - Kinda like my #1 thing, but I've done something like this already. I guess inspiration is not my problem, but kinda the opposite - keeping (more) focus on just one project, any tips on that? Edit: ah, those books seems just the answer. :P But on video on keeping focus would be great for me, other people and your channel, imo. Thanks for all the videos!!!

10 bad ideas. Oh god, _finally_ ; some advice for inspiration that actually works for me! Thanks! I've always had trouble with creativity (in the sense of producing inspiration from nothing), but it's not because my brain isn't thinking of anything, it's just because none of the things my brain is thinking of are complete. It's extremely easy to turn an incomplete thought into a bad idea, and it's then quite easy to turn a list of bad ideas into a good idea. When I was in pre-school, kids were tasked with writing a sentence and drawing something related every morning. Every morning, I would stare at a blank paper for 30+ minutes. If someone gave me this advice back then, I'd have spent my life being much more creative.

I'm a published collage artist (2D) with 300k social media followers. The reason I'm writing this is because this has helped me understand what people like, what they're looking for. So I'd like to answer the question on this video. IF you're trying to make art that is not just for you, but it's relevant to the masses today, then Blender is a great app to do meta-psychedelic art. That is what "sells" today, especially among young males. I do such pieces with collage, but obviously, 2D cut & paste never reaches the depth a real 3D app like Blender can reach. That's why there's a "market" for such art today, but most people I've seen on Blender just create models, or architecture, or comics. These are great to learn, or to sell to an architecture company, but not as great if you're trying to be more "artsy". I'd suggest you have a look at the work of Beeple. He uses Cinema4D, but that's rather irrelevant, the point is that he's capturing that market that Blender could otherwise dominate.

Name for Q&A? 3D to you from me...... It's a catchy title. (I was sacked from an advertising company, by the way......bad pitches....and stealing office equipment, probably had something to do with it.) For an increase in brain function. Do a pointless task. for example, tip a box of lego bricks onto a table and sort them into groups of shape or colour. doing a menial non essential task that requires some attention increases brain function, experiments have shown. i've got a lot of ideas, but always get sidelined as i have to learn how to do something to achieve an effect, then end up going off on a tangent. never finish a project, as i end up in a totally different area as to where i started. I've made some lego characters in a porn situation...don't know how that happened.

Title: *Will it Blend?"* But seriously, a pun would be nice although it might make it more difficult for new community members to find but it could be: *Blending ideas* or simply *A Blender Q&A* but to be honest, this new camera stuff goes beyond Blender and themes are more about 3D Art; albeit focused on Blender, these seem to be more broad non-technical (as in which keyboard shortcut does "X") discussions that provide guidance rather than a definitive conclusive answer. With this in mind, how about another more universal pun like: *Rendering Answers* or more literal *CG QnA* 10 (bad?) Ideas: *The 3D Artis Survival Book* *Blending About* *Blender Answers* *CG Ramble* *Blender Talk* *Andrew Q&A* *Blender AMA* *Blender Questions* *CGI-have a question* *What about 3D*
