Since animals often have wide distributions, this means multiple communities will encounter the same animal. And thus come up with different names for the same species. However, scientists from all over the world call the saltwater crocodile "Crocodylus porosus". And yes I am aware that this was a joke. I just really like crocodiles, I'm not trying to be a jerk I'm sorry lol

This version of Tick Tock with his very long and fairly thin snout is actually pretty similar to a real prehistoric croc cousin called Gryposuchus. A giant 30 ft long cousin of the Indian Gharial that lived 16-5 million years ago. Which I think is pretty neat.
