Stephen Covey researched the past 200 years of success literature and found that in the past 50 years, most self-help and success books have been only focused on things like how you dress, your public image and having a positive mental attitude. In this book he focuses on habits that will improve your character ethic.
The 7 habits of highly effective People is considered to be one of the self-help books ever written and the 7 habits are as follows.
1 - Be proactive
2 - Begin with the end in mind
3 - Put first things first
4 - Think win/win
5 - Seek First to Understand then to be Understood
6 - Synergy
7 - Sharpen the saw

Are you a teacher by profession? Very effective presentation! I feel the calm, classroom vibe that keeps most students attentive, especially with topics like this. After watching this, I realized that it's tiring to watch overpolished, commercial-quality videos. This is more real and authentic, at least for me.

I love your content bro. One thing I love about Stephen Cohey is his style writing. He has this "compare and contrast" style of writing that help you distinguish his point from others in a very clear and enlighten way. For example, the part he focus on explaining the principles and tactics are the best. Those who understand it deeply can relate it to the self-help industries today where a lot of tactics were used. However, sadly though, these tactics are used not to tackle the mission but to make money off people. Which then, you go back to the book and realize this is diamond.

"Emotional bank accounts" is a concept I return to regularly in my daily life. Every interaction can be seen as a deposit or withdrawal, be that in your personal or professional life. Currently, in a time where I'm getting to the end of my tether in my job, I recognise it's because my workplace continually makes emotional withdrawals from their employees, and very little deposits.

The "7-habits" is the best self-improvement insights for the century! It is a godsend that everyone should learn seriously! The material is the mother of all management, leadership, and relationship trainings to come. It not only applies to our personal life as well as our public life in business world! The 7-habits are "princples" that apply to "all" situations in life! I have the privilege to possess the audio of a multiple-day talk from the author, Dr. Covey, himself! I listened to it end-to-end at least 20 times in last many years, and I will continue to do so from time to time. Everytime I listened, I got new insights and deeper understanding as I reflected on my life! I become a better person because of that. And I will continue to keep this material close to my heart!

Thanks to Stephen R. Covey for the book and yourself for making things easy to understand publishing this video. Excellent. Great summary. You literally provided everything in the book in just less than an hour. One thing though: the story of the guy on the train. The book says he said he just lost his wife(the children's mother). I think it is even more powerful as that implies the guy was lost in his mind wondering what to do with kids all alone.

Stephen Covey was a great college prof at BYU - had him for OB321 - chatted with him several times after class. Great book, full of simplicity that captures totality of focus and what's important. Gave his point to all my reports for over 20 years - every one of them (but one guy who was just sort of libertarian, accept nothing sort) made mention of how it had helped them advance in work results and personal life.
