Tony Miranda from Cal State Fullerton hit a ball over the batter's eye and out of the old Rosenblatt stadium. It was a little left of dead center and in championship game against USC in 95 or 96 or 97. My HS American Legion team played in Omaha tournament every summer and we got to attend many games. I was sitting in left field bleachers when Miranda hit that BOMB. Personally, the fact that that Tony's TANK is never spoken about, doesn't qualify here, but not mentioned anywhere on web or KZbin is criminal. You can watch the game on KZbin. He hits it in the 7th or 8th inning. Mark Kotsay hit a shot too and he also pitched an inning or 2. Game was close then Fullerton went off last few innings and just destroyed SC.

The actual longest home run in CWS history is Damon Minor - Oklahoma 1994 6th inning no count off of Myers. OU up 7-4 vs. Georgia Tech (Garciaparra, Varitek) OU set championship game record scoring 13. Two days before the bomb Damon hit a foul ball that may be the longest ball an amateur ever hit. Wait...so.... at 2:35 Centerfield is 408’ away from dead center in that park... That ball was hit to the left of that marker, and barely cleared the wall into the 2nd or third row. I know for sure there’s been longer homers by Alonso in College ball and MUCH longer than the 4 that proceed it in this list. Come on.
@michaelhorsey58714 жыл бұрын
In fact, the very next homerun shown in this montage, apparently only goes for feet farther than the one against Miami Florida. That ball cleared up to the walkway pass the left-field bullpen… But apparently it was only 4 feet farther than the one prior. Sorry, something isn’t right. Much like when ESPN does the homerun derby and someone will hit the back of the third deck of citizens Bank Park, that will be 501 feet, then they will hit a homerun dead centerfield and it will barely graze the batter’s eye wall, but that one will be 578 feet.

This is only the longest home runs since they moved downtown just a few years ago. There were way longer homers hit at Rosenblatt when the ball was juiced and the ball flew out of there.
