As an American, I was deeply disappointed with Miss USA. The Golden Globe statue represents Hollywood, not the nation or it's people. With all the disgusting scandals that have come out of that town in the last few years, Hollywood is the last thing I personally want used to represent my country. Plus, the Golden Globes is literally a multi hour event in which Hollywood's elite gather together to stroke their egos and on occasion use an acceptance speech to try and lecture the Americans watching about something political. I will say I LOVED Argentina's costume. Simple, yet beautiful and powerful. That's the one that stood out most to me.

i like this year edition of national costume. the stage is wide (so less stumble risk, no cross path with other candidates). the girl screen time is extended to showcase their costume and walk, there's a nice close up shot too. a big step up from past editions.

As a Ghanaian woman, I must say Nigeria’s cultural representation was powerful and exhibited prospective tribal cohesion, by amplifying the intellectual strength and prowess of its women, regardless of tribe. In fact I had goosebumps because to me, the costume delivered a message which could spearhead the ultimate unification of the peoples of this great sister-nation. I was very proud as an Afrikan/PanAfrikanist. 🇬🇭 😘 🇳🇬
