A GIANT teenager has reached a record-breaking height of 7ft 8ins - and is still growing. Broc Brown, who was officially the world’s tallest teenager before becoming too old for the 18-and-below classification, is growing at the rate of six inches a year. If he maintains that rate, the 19-year-old from Michigan could easily surpass the current world’s tallest man, Sultan Kosen, who stands at 8ft 2ins.

Update I saw on social media: He is alive. Was in the hospital for pneumonia. He was also diagnosed with covid mid December but was home for Christmas. Slight digging can show you that his aunt frequently posts about him on her social media. This man is a fighter and is still living ❤️

Being tall your body has to work harder. My uncle before my aunt broke up with him he was 6,5 always bumped his head and would breathe hard. I asked him how different do you feel compared to being a small kid. He said being this tall brings spine problems and other health issues and he has to eat more. Uncle will consumed over 4000 calories daily and he was a very fit guy just that after tearing his ACL playing basketball he was just limpy. He told me he doesn't hate being tall he just hated the fact that his body works harder and he gets tired fast. I think he just turned 47 and surprisingly he doesn't use a walker. But from what I heard from family members they tend to consume and use more energy. Which sounds bad. I noticed that this year after I grew 4 inches so yeah sorry of this was long I just gave the information I knew. With him being 7,8 his knees must have a lot of pressure put on them hence the cane

The issue with height is that natural selection can keep increasing the genes for height as long as the tall population reach the age to reproduce, which is max around 50. Eventually when they're done reproducing, they'll be living painful/high mortality late stage lives if this gene keeps increasing. Malnutrition'ed, unhealthy childhood individuals skew the statistic for short people, even so tall people who are usually from healthier backgrounds have higher rates of many issues compared to short population. It's more serious than it seems.

I hope somebody takes a special interest and studies him. Get him into exercising, give him a proper diet, and hopefully see what he could be like with peak conditioning. You can even make a documentary on it, I'm sure there aren't a ton of them. It'll be a really interesting take for sure.

My buddy has the same condition (Sotos syndrome) though he's much shorter at 6'11”, unlike Broc, he's fit but doesn't change much, the pain is constantly there, I know him since he was 15 and the doctors told his mother he won't live past 20, he's now 39 years old and still kicking but he can barely walk and he's always drowsy from all the meds, he developed kidney and heart problems in his teens, in adulthood he became epileptic, it's not a matter of what he eats or how fit he is, it's a incurable disease.
