$595 for NH35A! I can get a titanium watch with that movement for half the price and with sapphire.

@@amilyesterSo what if he has a Chinese brand in mind? Name one brand on this list that doesn't source chinese parts to assemble their watches. I'll wait.

@@amilyester Marathon isn’t Chinese and is still cheaper. Either way that seems to be a premium price for the NH35A in my humble opinion.

NH35 a low end movement, usually found in sub £100 watches, you could buy a watch with a miyota 9000 series for less than £300.

Yeah, mate, a NH35 isn't a solid caliber for the price It's asking for that watch. You can find a NH35A movement for 35 bucks. Good news is, yeah, they easy to service or outright replace if needed.

How concerning is the use of plastic materials on the Powematic 80 Prx movement? Is it true that it can't be service?
@bananabonzai4 ай бұрын
It can’t be serviced but the plastic component works better than if it were metal for the design of the movement which also drastically makes it more affordable. Even if you have to service it, better to replace it with a completely new one than having an old one refurbished
@VedavyasMunugoor4 ай бұрын
It's a concern that has been extremely overstated in my opinion. Yes, it can't be serviced, but it can be full-on replaced for cheaper than a service. The plastic actually has some pros as opposed to the metal by (1) making it cheaper obviously, and (2) not needing lubricant, decreasing the frequency of servicing anyway.
@Mat-sz9hs4 ай бұрын
@@VedavyasMunugoor I ask about this to Tissot and they told me it can be serviced or fix if necessary. I dont know what to belive haha
@rabbit8594 ай бұрын
It’s not. The engineering is sound, since the synthetic escapment is both plenty durable and more importantly, non magnetic. Also, odds are if you took it in for service they would just replace the whole movement anyways. If anything, what offends me about Tissot & Swatch is the powermatic series as a whole, and their choice to downgrade from 4hz(28,800bph) to 3hz(21600bph) to get boost the power reserve.

I owned the Lorier but I sold it off. It had a cheap feel to it. The bracelet was meh! It ran well, but the GMT hand was off by a bit and that really frustrates me. As for Seiko, I have been thrice burned by movements that are way off and unable to be regulated. That, along with Seiko’s horrible QC on issues like alignment put me totally off the brand.

What is it about 6r Seiko movements that they are dependable? Everybody says this on videos and it is the worst movement ever. Highly inaccurate, you’ll be very lucky to get a good example. Within 2 years you will most propably have to get the movement changed. I’ve had four 6r15 movements and three of them broke within two years. And the 6r35 is even worse. Never had any problems with 4r movements and they’ve been highly accurate, even two of the 0s/day. And I’ve had maybe ten of even more of them. Please don’t say 6r movements are bulletproof or dependable. They’re not!
