It's even deeper than that. An arrow being shot is analogous to our existential condition as beings who are always aiming. An arrow entails aim and has been historically and etymologically tied to the conception of sin, which originates from the Greek word 'hamartia' (meaning 'to miss'). To sin is to miss the mark, to shoot and miss the target; as everpresent aimers, we're always missing and aiming for new targets. What targets are we aiming for? How truthfully and purposefully are we aiming? I think what Bladee does all throughout Crest is an attempt to reconcile the tragic preconditions of existence, the inevitabilities of suffering, death, evil, tragedy, and so on with his heroic recognition of the simultaneous possibility for transcendence and redemption through proper aim, truth, and love, or something like that... It's his attempt to bridge the abstract/transcendent with the material/causal.

I'm somehow just glad this music can exist when it feels like it should be against all odds that some total outsiders from sweden just do their thing their own way and are succeeding at it. Especially when I get tired of a lot of my usual music rotations I have these phases of only listening to bladee and ecco because it is so entirely different and strange from everything else. Like when ur eating some good-ass pizza but the taste kinda gets stale after a while so your friend hands you the orange juice and you go "I don't really fw orange juice" but you try it anyways and it tastes so different after years of eating the same ass pizza and also washes away the staleness you've accumulated in your mouth so that you can enjoy the pizza again afterwards like you did initially.

this album is wonderful and connected to one of my favourite memories. i did shrooms for the first time with my best homies last year in the forest, we all layed down and watched the tree branches form into patterns with them outlines n shit with this album having a collective spiritual awakening type shit. i love this album so much. felt wonderful and i will never forget it.
