Cool, nice one. I only got a bit confused by the why of number 7. In a way I get it, but also in a way I don't.

Hi Carline, Thank you for asking - super question! Rethinking the basic 7th chord and using it as an upper structure is a great and easy tool to use to get expand the sound of the basic chords. Already practising the basic patterns in example number one and two and putting the same patterns to use in a nother context just gives flexibility in the sounds - Fmaj9 vs Fmaj7 - you can make. Try checking it out on a Bm7 chord - on the Bm7 you have an upper structure which is a Dmaj7 chord... Let me know if this helps. all the best :) Søren www.patreon.com/sorenballegaardsaxophonelessons
