Thanks, Duncan! Looks great! I always wanted to build a deck, but the layout of my house and yard just doesn't lend itself to that.

Hi- I just watched my video here to make sure it was watchable and caught myself in one mistake- I was saying pull 15 3/4 for layout- I ditzed- that's supposed to be 15 1/4 to 16 3/4 which defines the edges of the next joist. Usually we go with 16 inches after that by hooking the tape on the nail or second joist in and making an X on the far side of each mark to indicate that go are going beyond the mark with the joist or rafter.
