I've always preferred to use a li-ion battery in duel fuel AA and AAA lights, except in the Pokelit. Reasons: A) Gets too hot too quickly using a 14500; B) 0.5 lumens on low (effectively a nice moonlight) with an AA makes it a nice bedside light.

Amazon had these on today for a flash deal so picked one up. Choose the black with blue clip, 500 lumens is plenty for me for a edc light. Best video of this light on youtube!!!

Just got one of these in green. So far I love it. My only downside so far is you can't tail sit it. But that's minor. So much more compact than my Nitecore MH12 Pro.

I love Acebeam, They have really stepped up there lights. Olight is going in the opposite direction!
@DorkForge2 жыл бұрын
A good value light for sure, I just wish Acebeam had tried to distinguish it as their own light, rather than making it look like i5T/R. Their other lights have a nice tech punk look to them, it would have been nice to see that on a more budget light.

That's a good point, a unique design would have been nice

I like this light because it's generally slimmer than any other AA flashlights.

I bought an orange and green one when they first came out but didn't get much use time since I bought them as gifts. Seemed like great lights though. 👍🍻

Bought it based on your review and returned it after a week of use. Not sure if it was just the unit I received but mine overheated real quick in 50-60 seconds. Light quality was great but not practical due to the ultra low runtimes and overheating! Used in out in rain and I saw steam coming off it! #acebeam_feedback : You need to upgrade the metal body with low thermal conductivity materials with heat dissipating design that works! Also look into to testing your products before selling them. Please and thank you.

That definitely sounds like a defective unit. Not what I saw at all

Doest it really get hot when used with 14500? Thanks!

Can you use it with an aa battery? And how much does it affect the outpot? (I am looking for an good and Not to expensive aa/ 2aa emergency light
@LiquidRetro2 жыл бұрын
Yep it will run on a AA, but you get about 300 Lumens less in this single battery model. I cover this in my runtime and output sections in more detail.

Pokey Light? It's pronounced Poke-clit.
@geeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz Жыл бұрын
3 problems with this Pokeshit light. 1. The low mode is a moonlight mode really and basically the light has no low mode as med and high are both pretty bright so the power levels chosen for this light are just plain stupid and I find very annoying in use. 2. There is memory but if you press and then press again within about 4 seconds then the light level changes. This 4 seconds is stupidly long. Stupid becoming a theme here. 3. if not used for a while then when you switch it on the light flickers so seems to be some problem with the switch contact as if you make a few activations then this seems to clear most of the time and until next time and again it is annoying. So would I buy this light again. Absolutely no way because it has to many stupid and annoying "features" and how or why they would mess up a potentially good light like this is beyond me and reviewers don't seem to pick up on any of this either? It could have been good if Acebeam had not sabotaged it's own light. The Acebeam motto seems to be "We aren't that bright" lol.

I just got mine and totally agree that it needs another brightness level in between
@geeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz2 ай бұрын
@@MiguelY22 I have the original Rider RX also and it has 4 levels but NO MOONLIGHT! It's lowest level is to bright unless you use an nimh. I still use both lights as I do like the Nichia emitters and the build is fine but the set ups are frustrating. Currently waiting on my Sofirn Q8 Pro in 5000k so not to bothered about the Pokelit. The other thing with the Pokelit is that it isn't a regulated driver so fades as the battery voltage drops and it's moonlight becomes almost nothing, which some might like? Drains a nimh very fast also.
