There are so many channels that use fake AI voices that only butcher the English language and give inaccurate information. I immediately quit watching. But man, this channel is pure entertainment! I love learning through your experiences. Your real life excitement and personal stories make this channel a pure joy to watch. The folks you have met and have allowed them to tell their stories is just incredible. I'm so glad you were able to record Mickey's story. When folks like him pass, so does the history they so cherished. But your episode will let that history and that person live on. There are days I want to sell everything and build my own rig but that time has passed for me. But as long as you keep doing the exploring and story telling, I will be here watching with a smile on my face! Thanks Dustin!

You wonder at your success. I don't. It all stems from who you are and the fact that you are doing what you love. You are real. There is no hint of deceit or guile in you. You are honest and open. Those traits are written all over you for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. You were made to do exactly what you are doing. It is an honor to be associated with you even as a viewer. Thank you for being who you are and doing what you do. You are priceless. BTW...none of this is to say that you are perfect. You are not perfect as we are not perfect but you are honest about that too. Stay safe and healthy, Dustin, and have a wonderful new year.

Thank you for this episode. I was hoping you would visit Telegraph Creek at some point on your journey. I was very fortunate back in the early 90s to have the opportunity to visit Telegraph Creek. I used to work in the computer departments of London Drugs in Langley and White Rock when I got a contract with the Indian band to fly up to TC and install a small computer network with printer and accounting setup in the band's office. It was in the middle of winter and pretty chilly. I seem to remember it was about -30 to -40 the week I was there under a beautiful sunny sky. I stayed in the old, very drafty, Hudson's Bay Lodge. I can't remember the name of the Band's Chief, but he was my host and really opened my eyes to what we immigrants had done over the decades to the natives. The history of the Indian bands and what the government did to them is a story I hope you can explore at some point as it really is the dark history of the area. The story of the how the bands were all forced to live in TC, how they and their lands were exploited to the max for gold mines that promised them jobs, a better future etc. which never came to reality. In fact, if memory serves, the only thing they got was a liquor store. Why does that not surprise me. But that is the real story of Telegraph Creek. How the natives were forced to move their off their traditional lands and how they were so completely screwed over. It really hit home to me what we have done to natives over our shared histories. It gave me a newfound respect for the people that roamed this land for thousands of years before we invaded and just took it from them. It was heartbreaking history.
@Jen-m5p3 күн бұрын
Yes and now immigrants want to do the same to European settlers. ‘UNDRIP’ or ‘DRIPA’ is an agenda to force everyone off their land to live in 15 minute cities. I wonder of all the illegal I migrants know that if the elites/globalists have their way there is no future in any western country moving forward. How can 2 wrongs make a right. It’s an informative rabbit hole to explore.

Thankyou Mickey, for sharing your stories with Dustin, sharing roots and stories, legends is apart of what humanity and being human is. "Wild horses" song by Rolling Stones, from gentlemen for his era, and Congratulations on your purchase of Lot 32. Childhood living is easy to do The things you wanted I bought them for you Graceless lady you know who I am You know I can't let you slide through my hands Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Wild wild horses couldn't drag me away I watched you suffer a dull aching pain Now you decided to show me the same No sweeping exits or off stage lines Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Wild wild horses couldn't drag me away I know I've dreamed you a sin and a lie I have my freedom but I don't have much time Faith has been broken tears must be cried Let's do some living after we die Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Wild wild horses we'll ride them someday Wild horses, couldn't drag me away Wild wild horses we'll ride them someday kzbin.info/www/bejne/kH_EonV4n9d8kNk

Dustin has saved pieces of our heritage by introducing the folks at Telegraph Creek to the rest of us. Just like the fish cannery episode on the coast, the ability to feature people and their individual and shared history is precious. Cracking video as always. Thank you. I don't know if wildlife admires the view, but one of my dogs used to sit down and stare at the sea whenever he came across it while on walks. But it was every single time so it wasn't a fluke, which I thought the first time. Kelpie just loved sea views and he never took them for granted, even if we walked the same walk for weeks on end.

Thank you for preserving Mickey's legacy on film so that his family can watch it any time they choose to. What a blessing it is! I truly wish I had been able to capture my Mother bwfore she got sick. Mom had cancer and the standard treatment but she worked in a salon as a licensed cosmetologist through the the hair loss and all the usual symptoms up until 4cweeks before she passed. She was a very determined lady very much like Mickey. She did what was right no matter what. To Mickey's family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know the pain. While i dont know Mickey, I do believe he was a go getter and a very determined man who knew he wanted and did what was right despite objections. Rest in peace Mickey.
