The abandoned Grange Cavern Military Museum WW1 and WW2

The Grange Cavern Military Museum was housed in a limestone cavern near Holywell, Flintshire. The cavern was excavated in the 19th century and taken over by the Ministry of Defence at the beginning of the Second World War. Eleven thousand tons of bombs were stored there including the bouncing bombs of Dambusters fame. The cavern housed over forty military vehicles and a large collection of medals. It closed around 1989.

I visited this as a kid and thought it was great. Did they sell off all the vehicles?

This place isnt secret at all, it use to be a military museum open to the public, but closed in 1989, I went there as a young teen with my mother, they had up to 40 military vehicles and a hudreds of War medals on show, they even had a cafe right at the bottom of the cavern. Its location is in Holywell North Wales

I spent pretty much most of my childhood at the Grange cavern military museum. I remember the outbuilding where you would pay your entrance fee, the trench to the left as you went in, the cinema and the naffi situated to the rear. The kind lady there used to give me a packet of biscuits. There was also picnic benches outside, it really was an amazing place ❤️
