Babe wake up, Eric has released another clinical exam video

Your content is great! I am a retired PA and went to PA school back in the early to mid 70's. Graduated in '76 when the PA profession was pretty new. Our medical director was an 82 year old MD internist who's career was mostly in academic medicine and the VA. Back then I think the physical exam was much more respected then than it is now (speaking as an elderly patient with some medical problems!) Your approach seems to be keep a respect for the PE. I am almost 80 and still teach - medical terminology - in a nursing/health science program. I have the students watch some of your content. Would like to see your approach to a neuro exam. Keep up the good work! And thanks Harold Wood

Hi Eric! This is gold material as always! Can I ask you when is a neuro exam video coming? Can't wait for that!!

Thanks for comment and question. The neuro exam will be the next one I film for the series, but I still have 7 filmed videos (e.g. special abd maneuvers, special pulm maneuvers, the archaic maneuvers, etc..) I need to edit first. Maybe mid to late fall?

Didn't complete medical terminology in a Nursing / Health Science program. I have the students watch some of your presentations as an appreciation of the PE. Would like to see your approach to a neuro exam. Keep up the good work. Harold Wood

Thanks for the wonderful video. During the abdominal exam, do you palpate for hepatomegaly or check for ballotable kidneys?
@StrongMed3 ай бұрын
I don't recommend them, and in 20 years I have literally never seen a person do either maneuver outside of a teaching demonstration for trainees. (EDIT: I do practice in a resource-replete environment in the US; one's experience would likely be different in other parts of the world.) In particular, the liver span in the midclavicular line has poor correlation with total liver volume, which is what we are actually interested in and which is much better assessed by radiology studies. (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7661163/) And whenever people start pontificating on the vertical liver span, they never acknowledge that the normal range depends on height, weight, sex, and age in a way that is virtually impossible to remember anyway.

If their abdomen is tight, I need to confirm publicly their allegiance to my cause? Or just literally bend the knee?

Sir Eric can you send the link of other videos related to abdomen exam that you mentioned are not in this video?
