Wool gloves, when wet, actually keep you warm irl. Thats the point of wool gloves. If they’re going to punish players for getting wet, then they need to reward the players that wear the appropriate clothing. Oversight on the devs.

They really need to mess with the temperature on the other maps if they are gonna keep going this in-depth on the temp system. Livonia is almost unplayable unless you are running around with a T-shirt and some denim shorts. I’m always yellow temp.

But Livonia in DayZ and Arma lore is an independent country between Poland, Lithuania, Belarus and Russia. And in lore location is irl south-western Lithuania. Ah and in game it's Polish speaking country.

As someone who does ren fairs, it makes 100% sense that chainmail gear is warm, because it has padded clothing underneath. But while its nice, it should NOT be damp max water. Its literally the most water absorbant stuff ever and just walking around in that stuff will make it damp irl.

Are they deliberately trying to get players to leave ? I play Sakal and the official servers are pretty much empty compared to Cherno on console, which now has a wait time to get in. It was difficult before especially with the change in carrying capacity, this makes no sense. The fact that the best hunter gear is all white and the whole map isn’t seems to have been lost on them. I still play it though 😂

For most namalsk hardcore servers all around best in slot gear (insulation, camo, waterproof, protection) Full patrol set, wellies, nbc gloves, tactical helmet, black drybag, plate. If you can craft skullmask get it since it can only get damp. Thanks to heat insulation after 2-3 hours you will not need to make any fire.

I have some gear that states best insulation, OFM or something to that matter, it's a mil grade winter camouflage. This is on a Vanilla server, the only mods are admin tools. They seem to keep the heat buff for a decent amount of time, even in a worn and damp state.

I still like the OMK trousers and jumper with the smersh vest and bag, the field backpack, military boots, skull face mask, combat gloves, and admit the new snowstorm ushanka is nice. Wish the devs would give us an option to wear an under shirt and under pants as well as socks to help with warmth.

the OHK(?) jacket on Sakhal is a viable choice - you trade best to high for insulation, but gain 6 slots (24 to 30) and it only gets damp...

This is probably the best place to ask this question. But apparently the radio and the radio backpack will tell you where there's going to be a gas attack on any other mounts. If it's working and switched on , is this true ???

Not as far as I'm aware, I think this was a feature people were asking for but to my knowledge is not implemented. The only way to tell if an area is about to be gassed is with the red flare / light that flashes about 60 secs before strike

The chainmail is supposed to have traditional padding included, so I'm guessing that's what the devs focused on. I don't know why a pea coat is less effective with that logic though.

Cant lie I was so hype to dive back into this game with a fresh Official DLC but its honestly not even fun. Ive completely quit playing DayZ after 5k hours, and I dislike every change the devs have made for the last 2-3 years. Their “version” of DayZ is unfun and ass. The zombies still cant even path into a house correctly. Hopefully we get a game similar to DayZ at some point but they hopefully they’ll have staff and a bigger budget.

Another KZbinr called Modern History TV tried wearing his plate armor out during winter and said it pulled the heat from his body but was decent once he was moving around, that was after putting on a large cloak though. Having said that, I'd much rather wear any of the wool pea jackets which are shockingly missing off of the warmest lists in DayZ.

Ain’t nobody playing Sakhal it sucks the gameplay loop is boring and tedious. That’s saying a lot considering that’s like 90% of the gameplay of the game in general. At least on console all the Chernarus servers are full pop with queues and the Sakhal servers have a total of about 20 people across all the servers. It’s shit we just want the game flushed out and polished. Building/uncon system/a lot more new clothing/new vehicles/new weapons that aren’t OP asf like the thump and dmr/new locations and updates to existing locations is things this game actually needs. Should’ve just did a winter Chernarus and people would actually want to play it. Happy to support them with the $30 but idk just wish they’d add things we’ve been screaming about for the past 5+ years. 10k+ hours and all I see is duping/cheating becoming more and more prevalent nothing is getting better.
