But Jack's actually has traditional Alabama food and a bigger menu with lots of different choices some more simple like a BLT, or more traditional like a Fried Green Tomato sandwich

@14:17 A Jersey Mikes sub is my FAVORITE sub that a person can buy. I am so excited they are about to build a shop about 2 miles from my house. Wish they'd get on with construction, though, the land has been cleared for over a year now (All that is there is a 'coming soon' sigh and a larger grass field that is becoming overgrown now), and the "coming soon" sign for them and ANOTHER favorite vendor of mine) has actually been fading for almost a year... I'm tired of having to pick up Jersey Mikes when leaving my office over 20 miles away from my home when there could be one just a couple of miles by... Meanwhile, the new Zaxby's, in under 4 month's time, less than 1/4 mile distant from the Jersey Mike's site, managed to tear down several old buildings, get the lots cleared, build a restaurant, and is now servicing customers..

I think Michigan could've been better represented by Jet's Pizza. They were the first to franchise "Detroit" style pizza long before it went national. Even though it isn't "fast food", Black Rock is another. Cooking your own food on a 700 degree pre heated rock is fun. And delicious. California? How does one miss on Fatburger? Ice Cube wrote a rap about it. It's the go to late night crave? Ohio? Frickers could definitely be up there. Best chicken items, including their wings and chunks. And their blue cheese side is as good as any. Indiana? Steak and Shake. David Letterman had one built right next to the Ed Sullivan Theatre in Manhattan just so he could get his Steakburger fix. JMHO...

Pretty sure Milo's tea is nationwide, they have a deal with Walmart. If there's a Walmart, there's Milo's!

Delaware's Casapulla's Italian w/ Prosciutto is a true work of art....But in the early 2000's cousinc of original owners started their own shops....Judge ruled its a family name and cant be trademarked as such so now its confusing lol....old timers know the original on a side street in Elsmere is tops....That smell of a small old timey Italian market is an experience in itself
@Zdawd2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, having lived in quite a few states Casapullas is special. They have gone down hill in the last decade. Did not know about the history with the cousin. Thanks for sharing!

as a Nebraska transplant to North Dakota, burger time is not what the locals crack it up to be

North Carolina, it's Cookout hands down! You never walk away hungry. For $6 you get a combo with a 1/4 lb. burger, 2 very filling quesadillas and a drink (refillable), and for an extra dollar you can sub out the drink for a milkshake. Their milkshakes just blow away McDs or ChickFilAs, thick and full of actual fruit rather than flavoring. Impossible to walk away hungry. McDs, BK, Wendys, ChickfilA are not even in the same conversation.

@@Missclassy81 What do you think about Bojangles? It's good chicken, but I can buy 8 pieces of excellent fried chicken from Harris Teeter for $5, so why would I spend 8 dollars for a combo at Bojangles. What do you think?
@terrib6272 жыл бұрын
@@GeraldM_inNC Well, Harris Teeter doesn't have a drive through, so there's that. I like Bojangles, but I much prefer off-the-bone chicken (I'm lazy). Yes, I know they have strips too, but I prefer Raising Cane's for my chicken fix. I just wish they had a wider variety of sides. Zaxby's takes second place, although their quality has been going downhill recently.

We have Cookout in KY now, but I can't seem to talk them into opening in Louisville. The closest to us is Frankfort. Their milkshake menu is insane.

As a lifelong Californian I love both the habit and in and out, I think habit has better fries and sides while the burger at in and out might be a bit superior. Here in Los Angeles we have hiho and eureka which might be my favorite burger chains, but both of them are a bit on the pricer side.

Tudor's biscuits are amazing. A must if you're in West Virginia in the morning. Warning, though: they are big and they sit heavy

Milo's is the best local chain but much harder to find than another Alabama chain, which has started to spread to surrounding states, Jack's. There are over 200 Jack's locations.

I'd never had Milos until my wife and I went while we were dating. I love that they mentioned the sweet tea in passing. I mean Milos tea is what most people think of. We went to Tennessee on our honeymoon. No Milos up there. Got a jug of what I thought was something close to it. I had to call poison control. Bad times... lol.

@@alabamaguns3684 I am guessing you went to the Smokies for your honeymoon. I know you can get Milo's in Chattanooga but not sure about anything further north.

We always enjoy Penguin Point in northern Indiana. They're a small regional chain in Plymouth, Warsaw, and Fort Bend IIRC, but they've got good food... their Big Wally tenderloin-n-slaw sandwich and fried chicken is terrific. At least before the pandemic, they had regional seasonal favorites like blueberry tea and blueberry fried pies, in addition to their usual selection of fried pies, which are extremely tasty. Later! For once you got things right, I used to live in Iowa and got Ross's (maid-rite style burgers) once a month but Ross's had 2 things better than maid-rite, the magic mountain (Texas toast, fries, beef all smothered in cheese) and the volcano (the magic mountain smothered with chili and jalapeno). I now live in NW Indiana and go to schoops regularly and the burgers are awesome but what you didn't mention is their breakfast cuz their biscuits and gravy are amazing and the pancakes are perfect (the only one that can make proper pancakes with crispy edges and they have a strong vanilla flavor) 😋👍

@@MsTwiththeTea1980 friends and family said I should do that because of my culinary background. From someone who has grown up in Hawaii, I already knew Zippy's was going to be on the list for us. Most of us have worked there or know people who has worked there. I worked as a cook at one of their locations 10 years ago. Its a good go to for any occassion or to pick up food for parties with trays of different food. Every party that I have gone too as a kid to adult, someone always brings something from Zippy's becauses its on the way 😂
