I don't know what algorithm and design the developers have coded to this game , but this is the only sim that you really feel you connected to the asphalt through your wheel , when you played rfactor you can't go back to other sims

It's the refresh rate of 2400Hz that gives you that feeling. You feel everything, and always stay connected to road. That's why Assetto Corsa feels hard to drive fast on bumpy roads - you lose a lot of info with those huge time gaps.

Really great stuff. Sebring in rf2 with a GTE is the most adrenalinic, exhilarating and brutal experience in the entire simracing panorama. I can't believe a simracer of your level hasn't tried it before today!

RF2 was so user not friendly is why. It was so frustrating for me just getting it running years ago, I gave up. Im so burned out with iracing, crap tire model. Ams2 has sooo many bugs and MP is terrible. It’s time for me to give rf2 a try again. I think Rennsport will be another ft3 😑 and Esport for the elitist

I gave it a go recently. Runs well in VR which is a must to me but I can't really get the FFB feeling right for my CSL DD... Dunno if it's just me. For me AMS2 is still the most intuitive sim to drive.

No scary moments any more but all the sharpness remains. I think slew rate at 0.8 was the key ingredient. I'm absolutely hooked on this game now it's unreal how good it is. Reminds me of the live for speed days.

I've been in sims for 30 years now, and like you I like a lot of them for different reasons. But the Rfactor2 is without a doubt the ultimate riding experience. You can feel every detail of the track and the tyres, it's really connected. But to really have fun you need to look for teams to race, we have some very good ones here in Brazil.

The description of this video is exactly what I feel after 2 years of racing in ACC and for about a month I started playing RF2... its like my whole rig is on that damn track, its like my brain feels everything, every little bump and stone and grass on the track. I only have a Moza R5 and this game was putting me in the middle of the action. I am just surprised like you. I tried moving to ACC after 1st month of racing in RF2 and... its like arcade to me. I am just WOWed by this game and I am so happy that you, a professional racing driver feels the same. BTW, at the end the car brakes didn't worked like in the others? 😝 A pleasure watching you race on any track! I appreciate your honesty about this game.

@m.thomas7711 lots has changed since then. The UI is much better (anything from perfect 🫣) but very usable. Good thing about old titles like this that I can set the graphics to max and still get 90fps. Inside the cars look less 3D not as beautiful as in automobilista 2 but hey nothing beats that driving experience this is how real cars behave nothing more nothing less.🤩

I tested almost every sim that is available but when I drove in the rFactor 2 I really felt like im sitting in a GT3 car despite playing on cheap logitech G29. Tyre physics are just the most importend thing becouse they are conecting a car with a road. Every flex of a chasi and suspension compresion is transmitted through the tyres to the ground and I think thats the reason why the rFactor 2 is the best. The physics of the tyres are just top notch!

Thats because steering sensitivity, linearity, gamma or whatever it's called is always too twitchy and unrealistic. Always lower the steering sensitivity, linearity, gamma in all racing games until it feels realistic in turn ratio. Its the magic setting, ie accuracy setting at the center steering.

You HAVE to do this race with time acceleration. rF2 is most beautiful at dusk/dawn and night. Step into the Oreca LMP2 at Sebring or Le Mans. Its the best kombo you can get

Totally agree. Lapping Le Mans through the day night cycle is a beautiful experience. Unfortunately the other cars look cartoony in your headlights, but everything else is spot on.

As much as I enjoy racing with other sims, rf2 (as dated as it often looks) is still one of the most realistic feeling in terms of how the FFB is communicated to you, you do't often get the feeling of weight trasference in a lot of modern sims, but you do in Rf2. I stopped running it, because a few updates ago everything just stopped working, couldn't get it to load, re-installed and its running fine now. the CR8 gte is also a lot of fun around sebring too ;-)

Gotta say, rF2 is definitely at the top for absolute feel and feedback. Unfortunately Automobilista 1 gets overlooked a ton compared to other sims and I would put it neck and neck with rF2. Of course they’re both based on the ISI G motor engine so that’s probably why they both feel so good. I mean I love AMS2 but it will never feel like the first one.

I think maybe I need to give rF2 another shot. Tried it for a very short time a while ago now, and with my G27 it was probably the best feeling ffb and the ai was decent. The FFB is really exciting in rF2 -- you get a sense of different g-forces and braking feeling. Not so good if you have a motion rig since you get constructive interference, but amazing standalone.

Now people will argue with me of course RBM - but the reason I feel that rF2 has a realistic look, is that I was watching your race vision carefully. And even though yes, the graphics are old(er). It has this diluted / washed out look, which may on the surface sound negative. But I believe that general real-life has a washed out look as well?. Which is why I personally feel it looks so realistic. I personally believe that most Sim Racing games "enhance" the colours, so yes they do look both stunning & beautiful (AMS2 in particular), but I'm not so sure it's actually realistic??? P.S. You & O.T.I.S. have a great holiday break... ; )))

Hope you had a great vacation bro you deserve a break. What I love about RF2 is the SOP seat of the pants feeling you get. You feel like your actually moving fast where as many sims struggle to get this right. One thing I did notice though is it just me or does Rf2 on triples look as in its been squashed vertically like the image is compressed downwards if that makes sense?

Hi Vitto 🤛 I use the reshade and have pulled up the black levels and contrast and turned down the the vibrant of the colors! Haven’t tested yet other suggestions and mostly try to tweak things to my eye 😃

Worth is very subjective matter and for some people small things makes huge difference! The most expensive bases are better for sure but for triple the cost they give few percent more and for some is worthy for others not so much! For me changing all those bases all the time , in few days I can totally forget what I’m using and can be absolutely fine with Moza R9 or Simagic mini !

Здравей, както винаги много качествени кадри и умения показваш, GTE ми е на второ място от любимите класове, много е динамичен а колите много послушни, на първо място обожавам Група 5, GTE, GT3, GT4. Много ми е интересно да споделиш понеже гледам че когато минеш през неравност камерата на главата ти потрепва, което ме навява на мисълта, че използваш Басс шейкъри. Аз си сложих на скоро и съм много доволен от чувството, ако можеш да дадеш малко инфо за тези системи някой път би било интересно, лично на мен ми липсва(или аз не го направих както трябва) чувството на контакт на колата с голяма неравност например изпъкнал шикан да кажем като на Монза оранжевите, няма такъв удар по предницата както го усещам в волана, този рязък силен удар, в Басс Шейкъра го няма. Да усетя че предницата иска да се разглоби, или например когато някой ме удари, да усетя че се разклаща целия риг. Басс шейкърите си ги направих от тонколони говорители и са големи и качествени стъпалото е много силно на 20% иска да ми разглоби Рига 😂 исках така за да мога да си моделирам, и да си играя с херците, да го направя максимално реалистично определено имат силата за брутален удар, но някак си това ми бяга в настройките, и също какво ти е мнението за активни колани за имитиране на G при ускорение, и спиране, това планувам за следващ ъпгрейд .😅 😅

What I really don’t understand is that there are a lot of fans for RF2 and AMS2 etc but multiplayer are considered empty which is not nice. Racing against real humans is the best because yeah they are real humans 😅 My main sim is iRacing now after 1800h ACC and it’s populated 24/7. And I like GT3 and it’s very popular that class. So yeah I’m happy that I went iRacing

Rf2 is not empty, they are a lot of leagues races championship and endurances. I run online race since 1 year without issues. U also have lfm with decent amont of people in EU times. And rf2 is working on a beta online competition system so :crossfinger:

@@ducat7493 Yes that can be true what you say but like ACC and any other sim I actually just want in-game online system rather then searching for leagues and third party system. For me personally iRacing just eliminates all the hassle because it’s just easy built in-game perfect system. If there are like 10 Splits with say 30-40 drivers each split = means pole position laptime vs last driver laptime is very close which equals close battles = more fun and excitement. I already having extreme fun and crazy battles on iRacing. Want to race 24/7 😅 but offcourse that’s not possible 🏁

Im rf2 hooked. 4000h on steam. Iracing i did one and a half race and then i asked my money back for subscription. Acc i have 3h maybe. AC 1h max. Nothing compares to rf2. I buy all the content, even i dont drive it, just to help s397 at least a bit.

Amazing racing footage! This looks so close to real life, it's crazy. One question: Does on a professional, strong DD wheel the software of a game (like ACC, rF2 or iRacing) automatically adjust the strength of the steering forces of e.g. karts, formulas, race and street cars, so that i would set the wheel base to 100% and would have the realistic steering wheel forces of the real car, that i'm driving? Thanks!

Unfortunately no buddy, all cars in game produce different strength of FFB but not the exact torque of the car ! We have to adjust that strength from the sim to our personal like ! It is personal preference as even the same car model from the same class or different karts have slightly different forces on the wheel !

@@chepilevski Ah ok. Thank you much for answering! Would be a cool invention, to have a tool inside the software for that. E.g. it could give you a range in % of the gain you need to apply, to be in the range of the forces of the real car. There could be real data (by the manufacturer?) on how much power steering the car has and that could be in the car data for the ffb. I heard that in F1 the drivers can adjust power steering to their liking in a specific range, but for many cars it is so vastly different in real life and as a noob, with no real life racing experience, you have not much knowledge to adjust it to match real life. Imo after all those years of sim racing, it would be time to set the main gain to 100% and have real forces of e.g. a racing kart and a street car with power steering. Then in addition you could change it to your liking, if too strong, too weak etc.

Yea, i guess too, it shouldn't be that difficult. Maybe it will come, when the market is more filled with 10+ nm DD wheel bases. But i always wonder, why there isn't any information of real life wheel forces and how close you are with your gain and hardware. Rf2 runs way better than ACC in VR. I've got a Reverb G2 with 5600x and 4070ti and run almost full gfx settings. Your system won't break a sweat

I race exclusively in VR since 2015. Ran PCars, PCars2, AC, ACC, iRacing, RF2, AM2. Basically all implementations are good, except of ACC. The image is a blurry mess compared to the others. RF2 is sharp, smooth and just a lovely VR-experience for me. Everytime I switch back from an ACC league race to an RF2 league race I'm reminded about that 👍

You should try some mod´s, the best of rfactor2, some are ok, some are bad, but most of them are very good. Tracks and cars. At the moment, i should have more than 70 tracks installed and more cars than that. Take so much time every day, just to choose what car or track should i drive today!

I downloaded the demo and am shocked at the cartoon graphics that im seeing. I see others posting ganeplay that looks as good as ACC, but im afraid to pay for more content that will look like bugs bunny may be driving the car next to me. I never see complaints about Iracing or Raceroom graphics and the level is the same. When I'm putting all my attention to being able to enter the next corner to the maximum, the least I care about is what the leaves on the trees look like. I just want to feel how the car is going and in that rfactor2 has no rival. It is my opinion.

I feel sorry for you next time you fire up iRacing or ACC. You can have fun in all sims and I think they are all good today. But if you've ever had real life experience on track, something about rF2 tricks your mind into thinking you are really there in the car. When you then go to race in iRacing it feels numb and overly simplified in comparison. But stick with it. After a day or so in another sim you start to enjoy it again.

A couple of things, one, you are not allowed a vacation as we won't have any videos to watch..... Also, when you get back would it be possible to make any videos showing graphics settings and force feedback settings please? I have hardly used RF2 despite quite liking a lot of it as I have not got the game set up correctly. I have struggled with it. Help!!!!!! Thanks as well for another great video as usual.

I have spent a decent amount of time in each sim and rf2 is just superior, the feel and experience is amazing. My only frustration is multiplayer, if you want that the solution “was” LFM (seems a bit dead 😵), the solution be part of a league

S397 is currently alpha testing an all new multiplayer interface called RaceControl. Hopefully it will make it easy to get online and race!
